myeongin's actions seem callous, but she does harbor a genuine love and interest for jiwon (e.g. bathroom scene after jiwon attempts to seduce her). and obviously we know that jiwon shares the same feeling, since this story is mainly from her point of view.
however, BOTH of them aren't communicating at all, which is causing the strain in their relationship. myeongin avoids talking about the kiss and selfishly leaves jiwon in the dark about her true feelings. it's so ironic because she's portrayed as blunt and hard-nosed, but when it comes to jiwon, she just can't seem to say it out loud. (which is sort of romantic!! but also bad for their relationship... -__-)
jiwon isn't any better, because she chooses to play mind games instead of initiating a much-needed discussion between her and myeongin. her fantasies of how myeongin will apologize demonstrate a lack of regard for myeongin as a separate person with feelings of her own, as opposed to a character in her dream world. myeongin's words at the end of Ch. 11 remind us of this - jiwon thinks she's able to manipulate myeongin to her will, but at the end of the day, "that girl doesn't really know anything about me."
oh! did anyone catch the symbolism of jiwon's scab? there's a reason why it's shown throughout the episodes... perhaps it has something to do with the rift that has split between the two of them. jiwon keeps picking at it, much like she's picking at the frays of their unclear relationship. but maybe if she left it alone for a bit, it would begin to heal.
keep in mind that they're only 17-18. and it's just the beginning of the story, so we'll see the character development as the story progresses.
truth be told, i'm a bit apprehensive to see where the story will lead to. there are a lot of ways this type of manhwa could go south. sometimes the author burns out, abruptly ends the story, and leaves too many loose ends. other times, they drag out the drama until it wears thin on the readers. i love me a spicy plot, but there comes a certain point where enough is enough.
nevertheless, i will place my faith in the author! looking forward to the next update :D
Some ideas I have on the potential symbolism in Chapter 32:
1. Leash/“I’ve raised a dog before.”
Potentially means that Ms. Ren has done this seduction trap before with other people. “Raising a dog” might mean keeping someone subservient to her, which we can see in the prologue where Wan Shu is collared and seemingly forced to write for Ms. Ren.
2. The Last Supper painting
Wan Shu could be Ms. Ren’s “last meal” (last victim) before she gets caught. The painting might foreshadow Ms. Ren’s fate.
