The original Edith is amazing for taking a stand.
Honestly I can’t help but love her for trying even though she failed again and again, she’s definitely a survivor (▰˘◡˘▰)
I hope she and the others can get their revenge
Also as a fan fiction writer I find it hard to through my characters into the pit, even if it generates more drama. I struggle with it because as much as I hate it pain is growth.
I know people seem to hate Mary Sues and Gary (the guy version of Mary Sues) but as a parent can you watch as you send your child off and not only that but be the one to place obstacles in their path, it hurts and I want them to be happy
So as a writer’Edith’ isa character/ child I can say justifies my Mary sue, HE writing and can only write bad stuff when I’m in a bad mood and need to vent
Did the Grim reaper test him? Like he didn’t curse him with immortality right away he told him he’d save a life.
If he had agreed instead of firmly rejected would he have just lived to his old age or would he have aged slower?
Instead he got a knife to the stomach (life time of pain) and the knowledge that he could only die if it was removed (wonder if it’s true since Grim wanted him alive to save ‘that’ life [do t know if it’s hers yet but I suspect so])
It’s kind of like that story with the girl with the green ribbon around her neck and she met a boy when she was on the swing asking why she always wore it. And unlike most boys he left it alone when she told him to Every time he asked and when she was on her death bed she brought up the green ribbon and asked him to remove it, (they’d been married for their whole lives, nice on not pulling her ‘pigtails’) curious he did and to his horror and possibly her relief her head fell off, the ribbon was the only thing that kept it attached
I think it had so many lessons, leave someone be if they don’t want to tell you something, respect it enough and they may tell you themselves. If you don’t it may have consequences that are horrible
Honestly a story like that rarely has a good ending, can’t say ‘happy’ since she died, bit it was Her choice at the end, not a child’s curiosity, animosity (be it child or husband, surely that’d had arguments over the years and if her husband had truly wanted to hurt her (hit, verbally abuse, etc.) he would have first removed her ribbon and like most victims she would have paid the consequence, her life, while he only a shock and being pissed off about having to hide the body… wonder if the author intended it as a warning for bullies too?
If her son is even on her side or if I’m just imagining things… he doesn’t seem to approve?? of his mothers actions???
Or he really just wants to counter attack? But it didn’t say who the counter attack was for and I’m not sure if attacking the queen might effect him negatively…
Like the queen is definitely against fl but he seemed upset?? Like how his mom does a 180 to the maids and he smirked when she agreed to his plan? So there’s no proof (if the maids are on his side) that he was involved….
So recap
Ch 1 she killed herself so he could finish revenge, then for some odd reason she returned to the day she met him.
And I thought he hated her. Turns out he’s obsessed with her… not… not in a good way (normally I like possessive men, but only to a point) killing everyone around her didn’t help anything and killing this guy on the latest chapter… yeah… I don’t feel safe around him
But I think she gave away the plot, saying that the king would do ANYTHING to bring her back
I wonder if he turned back time to bring her to life, the cost his memories and her keeping hers (though maybe that was more a side affect, but for history not to repeat itself something g has to change) but maybe this happened again multiple times on repeat till something changed
I really don’t know if I like the ML, right now I can’t really sympathize with him ( ̄∇ ̄")
He's hateful in wanting to kill a loyal guy like Gideon for this, and perhaps the ML did kill her dad in their past life, but in the new life apparently the only one the ML did kill for sure was her aunt (as he had officially executed), and not the rest of her family, since the person who killed her father and uncles in this life is ultimately the one who set fire to the house. Yet.... that fire doesn't seem to have been the ML's doing, either, since in chapter 1 they show him looking at that fire and telling his soldiers it must be just a ploy from the FL's relatives distract them, in order to buy time to escape... (but we learned later on he was completely wrong at that time, because, aside from the FL, her father and uncles had all chosen not to escape from the burning house, and simply waited to die in there..). As for his motivations, I interpreted that he had wanted to kill everyone but her because he (mistakenly) thought she was the only innocent one in that family, believing her father and adult relatives had killed his father, leaving him an orphan, and that they had also tried to poison him (but he was also wrong on this two accounts, because that was only what the FL's family *LET* him believe; the FL's father never killed his dad, but *took the blame* for a certain someone else, and the FL's aunt never tried to poison him for real, she only gave him a non-lethal dose of poison mainly to convince him give up on being with the FL). In a way, it's sad how her family let the child ML believe the worst because they chose not to tell him the truth about his father (that he'd been secretly beaten and brainwashed since childhood to turn him into a bloodthirsty killer, by his own maternal family).
The prologue is still my favorite.
I know it’s ‘weird’ for the Duke to be so gung hoe about FL, or that they’re too much, it really he’s a caring guy Only for those he considers His (which would be a treasure to have)
My guess is her stunt put her in his interesting catagory then quickly catapulted into His, because really what child tries to get someone else to kill her (and this wouldn’t have worked if he was a noble piece of trash, and he’s not so the story can work) he cares for his family in his own way, but she’s special because she unintentionally forces him to have to show he cares in Other ways and he has to do it but by bit or it’ll scare her off or to the point she begs for death again
And when or if she ever feels safe enough the Duke will have been showering her with so much love it’s normal by now
It she’s a good kid partially because it’s Her attitude and secondly because she knows what life is like without it and is replaced by hate and greed
The only thing I’m sad about is she doesn’t do this for his own kids, it I’m just gonna assume he tried to show his loves and his kids pushed that form of love away since they were ‘big’ boys now or are Aristocrats
╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭ I’m not sure
Like I know it’s been a while since the reveal that the ‘controller’ is Ryse the OG story’s OG FL who is the author.
And rereading this story shows time and time again that Ryse kept trying to interfere, which I will say way to go manga author, I thought cliff was the controller since he’s obsessed with Ryse and never wanted her to grow old and die
The controller sure is good at being/ playing the white lotus
