...he fucked up seriously bad in his past life, but can see how fucking long ago that was, if you don't learn from after all that, then you're just a dumbass and this man clearly regrets what his past self did. I don't think the MC needs to forgive him but I think the dude needs to forgive himself and move on and try and live a life for himself...at least that's what I think
