when it comes to the differences in rape and pedophilia number one its the power imbalance, children in no way shape or form can participate in things that pertaining to sexual acts because they do not understand them becasue they are not developed at all its important to know alot of rape occurse due to a retraction of consent and that retraction being ignored or coersion of consent, children cannot consent

they cannot understand the concept of sex and nor can their brain, they also cannot fight back due to the differences in development and they are also much easier to manipulate and groom due to their easily malleable developing brains,

but when you are an adult you are able to fight back to an extent weather it be physicaly or in the courts, you are also aware of what's happening to you to an extent and can get help for that

children cannot do that as they do not understand sexual acts, so they can easily be tricked into it, and many a times its fatal for them, many children die becasue their bodies cannot hand the shock, while many adults can find ways to cope with what happend

while adults are still susceptible to manipulation, they also have alot more avenuse to escape such situations because they have those around them who can understand and see what's happening to help them, often children abusers are those closest to them making it even harder because often the perpetrator is very trusted

but children cannot communicate their issues as well because they often don't know in the first place what's happening

when it comes to rape it's extremely common within manhwa & manga so at some point you become desensitise of course it's not justified but its often written off as "dubious" consent which is often not true at all but it's how it's slipped through the cracks and has grown to be the problem it is today but it still cannot be compared to incest/pedophilia,

if we do not make the distinction in severity we cannot actualy tackle the problem because we don't actualy know the problem well enough to realise it needs to be handled differently which in turns leads to things like this,

if we put rape and pedophilia on the same level we essentially invite pedophilia into our daily lives as "they're the same", now pedos have a safe space which if so fucking wrong and messed up,

but the only reason it's now appearing is because we never took care to restrict rape within manhwas & manga but also Asian culture is heavy with pedophilia so that's also had a big influence hopefully that makes sense! Its quite long but I wanted to cover everything
