From what I read so far the red head became a criminal for not following the law of the place and sneaking off and attacking the MC, just to get revenge for his brother in which is a real criminal for being in a gang and killing a lot of people.
Even though the older brother became a criminal to take care of the red head, for the MC it's nothing but sentimental nonsense because his the same but he didn't became a criminal just yo feed his brother, he himself worked just to feed his brother, so for him it's just nonsense
