Don’t get me wrong - this is very cute! Art is great, too. But after a handful of chapters the story totally deviates from the “puppy” aspect of things, which is sorta a shame. I’m all down for the uke getting more confident and less innocent over time, and I LOVED that this actually had (mostly) proper consent and communication, but I was into it for the dom/sub aspect of the plot and that’s pretty much abandoned like, immediately. Oh well. Still worth the read!
The story is super long-winded and 99% of it is flashbacks, memories, and conflicts between characters that aren’t the main two. The same story could’ve been told with much fewer chapters wasted on explaining each character’s backstory in excruciating detail with more focus on the two main characters, and I think it would’ve been much more pleasant to read. I feel like I barely saw the main couple at all past their first date if they weren’t banging or misunderstanding one another. The huge amount of exposition unfortunately leaves little room for you to get to know the main couple very well. It’s also incredibly heavy which I don’t mind but wasn’t expecting. Wouldn’t recommend
