this is what i understand: the white haired dude is baek yoon’s (the purple haired dude) older brother who was supposedly eaten by j (the tiger) , but i guess not since he’s still alive ?? i’m guessing the older brother offered yoon to j for him to eat . so right now j is trying to make yoon happy , which is why he suddenly started acting nice because “food tastes best when happy” or maybe that’s just him in denial because he is starting to catch feelings for yoon and doesn’t want to eat him , is what the older brother believes .
I think it's both, happiness tastes best- that's how he's trying to justify/deny his feelings
