Hello I am a MLM and I have a question for the females here, why do you choose yaoi over straight stuff?? ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍

I find straight couple relationships too mainstream and I've read my fair share of them to the point where it got repetitive, kind of starting to get to that point with yaoi. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

Hey I’m a female to answer your question! I am asexual and get extremely uncomfortable with female sex. Yaoi is a genre that I can really not feel uncomfortable with. I am also Aromantic, and get a little uncomfortable with relations, more of confusion haha. With BL and Yaoi i become attached to the characters because it is something I do not find disgusting (unless its CP). :)

Because we find that yaoi is more attractive than straight stuff. How about you just search the internet "Why girls like yaoi"?

Tbh i think it’s more cause girls like pretty anime boys so instead of projecting themselves onto a boring hetero girl like in shoujo theyd rather just read a love story with two pretty boys instead.

Since I'm on mangago and yaoi is the primary genre here, I read yaoi. Sometimes, I just want to read smut, but good smut, where the story exists and better if it balances with the smut, yaoi on this site provides that because there is alot, so there are many good ones amongst the bad ones. Plus, I have read one or two good straight smut but I dislike the majority with over exaggerated breasts and whatnot. But on webtoons, for example, I read many FxM romances alongside another variety of genres but unfortunately cannot read any smut. also, i prefer dicks over vaginas.

Because it's their own preferences. Honestly I used to read those a lot but nowadays I just read Shounen Ai and fluffy straight romance (I didn't read those unless it was a series I was interested in. I don't really look for new Yaois now.) Again, it's the preferences. It also depends on the person. Not every females here read yaoi and not every females also read straight. Some just read anything as long as they find it interesting.

Man on man is hot the same way a straight guy would say girl on girl except that people who read yaoi aren’t fetishising real people

I am a girl and by reading straight couple makes me a bit uncomfortable because I tend to project myself into the female character....since in most BL it is not concentrated on female character and I feel less uncomfortable. Its hard to explain it also I enjoy it more and for me it was straight couple mangas where always the same, the female being submissive and hate that (main reason I didn’t like it that much) I read every genre but mainly BL! I enjoyed it more but not sexually like I don’t masturbate or stuff (I find it weird)

Ngl I think its bc many females tend to subconsciously project themselves onto the female lead in straight romances, and sometimes it can cause insecurity/ jealousy(?) and stuff like that. Also since females project themselves onto them they kinda expect the supporting characters and the love interest to act in a certain way that they find attractive/realistic. But if those expectations arent met that's usually why females say they're boring and all have the same cliche(I do that A LOT). But in bl theres usually not a lot of female characters, so women can just enjoy the storyline as it is and wont project themselves onto the characters as much especially since they are mostly all guys. I rlly hope this makes sense bc I learned this in my psych class lol(〜 ̄△ ̄)〜 I also wanna add a lot of straight romances have more masculine dom mean guys but I prefer more softer feminine guys, which theres usually a lot more in bl's than SL.

The feels are different. It's like they've got more stuff going on compared to heteroship. Wider posibilities so to speak deeper emotional burden. Not that i am degrading heteroship ok? I am aware what a fem can be so its kinda meh seeing others portray what you can do, have and is capable of doing. And not having a male genitalia increases the curiosity also. It feeds imagination of how males can be. At least in fiction
