Pretty sure I know what is going on here. I don’t remember well Korean names so I will just say “little brother” and “big brother”:
Little brother was good at everything, older brother grew up while people were comparing him to his little brother, that made him develop a sense of inferiority towards his little brother. His little brother getting the custom designed clothes and skipping two grades further consolidated those feelings. On an attempt to feel superior to his little brother, he gangs up with his friends and bullies him, his little brother doesn’t get bothered by this and fights back this in turn makes the friends leave the older brother to be with the little one. The older brother, tired of always being left behind by people, decides to convince the little brother to go to their dad’s amusement park. On their way there, they get lost. The big brother abandons his little brother with the scuse of searching for water and directions. He feels guilty so he goes back to find that the little brother wasn’t there he freaks out, goes back home and tells his parents. Four days after, they find the little brother and he is fine, her parents start giving the little brother even more attention because of what happened this, in return, makes a clic to happen on the older brother’s mind.
Thinking about it it’s actually a very plausible thing to happen: if people don’t show interest on you because you are the aggressor then you have to become the victim, that’s the reason why his Memory is full of holes, he just took what he heard the younger brother say after the incident, plus his own memory and twisted them to make HIMSELF the victim. Pretty sure this change happened early on after the little brother came back which made their parents confuse them. I think the little brother just sealed away the memories later on because on how much pressure the unhappiness of the entire family he was enduring. What do you guys think? （￣へ￣）
agree with u on most of what u wrote (from the get go was sure that the older brother had a hand in the abduction, as in he deliberately put his younger brother in danger, cause he was jealous), just don't think the parents r confused. rather think that because of both kids losing their memories and such, they thought it better to leave things alone instead of trying to confront them with the truth. so even though the older brother wasn't kidnapped, and he really doesn't have a reason to hate his younger brother, the felt leaving things alone would allow them to heal individually and come together as family.
why the older brother took on his younger brothers roll of abductee, guess ur right that he felt guilty and rather than face what he'd done he assumed the injured parties role.
but still feel that the parents have done a disservice to both kids, as it has taken so long for the younger one to trust women, let alone let one touch him and he is still traumatized by not only zip-ties but also closing his eyes? what kinda life is that? and pretty sure the older one is also f*cked up in his own way (just not enough info about him to understand just how)...
