Also agree with the person who said the story was confusing - but also plot wise, there's a lot of things that don't make sense. See below for spoilers and me trying to explain what I read lol.

So in the very first chapter we see that the FL pours water on her cheating fiance. Then, we go back to the time where she first wakes up and gets reincarnated (backstory of her being an over achieving office worker, who died from over working 3 days straight. she apparently was addicted to the novel she reincarnated into - even making spreadsheets and stuff regarding the novel), and she immediately seeks out this Madame (sorry I forgot her name) to let her know the news that she had woken up after like 6 months of being asleep- because she was apparently poisoned by her dad. We also learn that she has a half-sister who is in the same boat as the FL: both didn't manifest abilities. I was confused why the dad was trying to kill her.

She takes a secret passage out of the house, and runs into the ML who was slashing away at some guy in the streets at night (not sure why he was killing ppl?). FL is being held up by some thug and ML tries to save her, and then questions her (seems like he was going to kill her? again, unsure why he was killing ppl in the streets). She absorbs some red stone or bean looking thing into the palm of her hand. She manifests her abilities, and faints. Unsure how the ML lead is related to the Madame that the FL was seeking out - but he somehow knew that he should bring the now fainted FL to the Madame's place? So then she stays at the Madame's place as a trade off for teaching the Madame's son how to manifest his abilities.

Then we see her at a ball for nobles, and apparently this one nouveau riche noble calls her out for not having manifested her abilities (it's apparent that this dude is instigated to say this by the FL's half-sister to try and embarrass her). She doesn't show her abilities, and basically talks back saying that she comes from a noble lineage and the king chose her commoner father to be part of her fam, but her lineage is still noble AF while he's just a new guy around here who knows nothing- less manners than her dog, blah blah blah. It was honestly a cringe interaction. Then the ML tries to intervene but she's like 'no I got this' and dumps a drink on him.

ML visits the FL later that evening, and asks why she didn't just show her abilities. I can't remember at what point - but ML is like the guardian or someone who looks over and is in charge of everyone who has abilities. She said that showing her abilities wouldn't change anything and her reasoning for doing that instead was so that no one looks down on the reputation of her house. And then, she makes a contract with the ML to pretend they are dating??? (and states obviously it's fake and she won't ever fall for him - too typical). Unsure why he agrees- it didn't seem like he had any real motive to accept except for curiosity to what she was planning, but like there isn't any benefit for him so idunno. Also doesn't seem like much motive for the FL either- I don't see the reason why she needs to ask him to pretend to be her BF? Maybe it's just me, but other stories similar to this, wouldn't you need to break the engagement first before you have a relationship with another guy? Maybe it was OK - since the news was already out that the fiance already was caught cheating on the FL? Still- the engagement had yet to be broken before they agreed to pretend to date, and I am still confused at which point of the timeline the FL caught the fiance cheating. Still unsure why her dad and step-sister are trying to get rid of her. So yeah - lot's of confusing moments for me with this story, and the art is just mid, so I don't think I will continue reading.
