Very solid short horror story, an interesting concept fueled by some good twists and amazing artwork.
The second comment mentioned that miki being a bitch=misogynistic ideologies, which I find bs. One female character in the story is not a good person and now apparently the story has underlying negative political and humanitarian values, give me a break.
As for what happened to jun, it was a really tragic accident, but I’m mostly leaning towards the mom’s fault. She didn’t necessarily do anything extremely wrong, but she didn’t make sure our MC knew she was leaving and SHE was the one who left jun alone with the balcony door open.
I do pity the MC a little, mostly cause it’s in his POV. But I try to be a little open minded about those type of things. I don’t find miki to be the worst person alive. The MC is not really a good person too, his self pitying and extremist values did cause his demise as well.
i honestly love all of them but chapter 1 is just absolute pain even after so many re reads- in fact, knowing what's going to happen makes a reread so much more heartbreaking
It's so brilliant and masterful in it's storytelling, interweaving the events of both timelines in a coherent way which purposefully sets up readers' expectations- and then resolutely crushes them. Successfully telling you both about their sweet interactions and the "what could have been"s while also conveying seiji's loneliness and bitterness.
Kasumi must feel so horrible. I think he blames himself for seiji's pain. Just seeing the shift in tone, kasumi's realization, seiji's monolgue, kasumi trying to persuade him, it all feels like a sort of spiral down to darkness (for the characters and us as well) and it's very depressing to see it all play out.
when you know what happens, you start to notice all the little moments and clues that bring in the feeling that something is not right, that there's something bigger going on.
If this relatively simple story was told linearly, it definitely would not have made such a huge impact on me. So hats off to that. But anyways now I have a huge headache from crying so much.
I love Eren, but that theory of him using the war hammer titan power to use bluetooth from Paradis thousands of miles away via a large cord that nobody managed to notice is a BIT hard to believe. He’s literally been shown to be in the titan.
I don’t think Isayama would kill the mc off like this (at the hands of Jean of all ppl) and hope he’s alive but not through that.
“There are those who absolutely refused to stop pushing forward. On occasion, they become one with their personal convictions, transforming into karma itself. These beings, who while human, have also transcended humanity, and continue to watch over everything with the gaze of inhuman eyes.”
Eren has abandoned his humanity. I pray that he gets it back in the end. I hope that he takes control of his destiny for once. I hope that he experiences TRUE freedom and peace somehow.
hi so i've literally been going back and reading your responses to people's comments and stuff and holy crap i shall now worship you because you-- you actually think these things and can put them into words and yeah so yes i love you
(please note that for me it is currently 3 am and i am slightly mentally unstable at the best of times so if this comes across as terrifying, i sincerely apologize)
"Even if we die, even after we die"- It was very interesting seeing all the past titan shifters come back to life and bertoto crying. If they're actually conscious, then does that mean even death can't free them?
Where tf is Eren? Ymir seems to be doing all the work now lol. I feel like Eren has completely abandoned his humanity and his consciousness, at this point I doubt he's even aware of what's happening around him.
Flowers for Jean, who just wanted a peaceful life, for Connie, who just wanted to be a good soldier for his mother, and for Eren, who just wanted to live freely in a land without walls. May you rest in peace. (And uh everyone else who died.)
Eren looks so damn tired right before he died. I really need more of his pov.
This chapter proved that Mikasa's confession was a turning point, and that if she had said a different answer, they would've gone through a different path. A path with no rumbling and genocide, a path with no euthanization, but a path that might've led to Paradis's demise.
Now I'm really interested to see how Yams wraps it up in the last chapter. rumbling stopped so like... what now lol. Is the world really going to forgive the eldians? I also really would've liked a ymir and eren pov (or just at least more explanation of their ideologies and perspectives) but whatever.
Still confused on wtf that slime spine thing is??? Someone help???
