I'm currently reading chapter five. I have noticed that there are a lot of side comments from the translator (or is it the actual author's comments?). I do not want to sound rude, but it's really distracting. As a reader, I find it difficult to immerse myself in the story when dialogue that isn't part of the story is added to the actual speech bubbles and scenes. The translator may have just really liked the web comic and just couldn't help but gush over it and share her thoughts about it, but it breaks the suspension of disbelief. It's like being next to some really loud and talkative people when watching a movie.

but, then again, maybe its just me. Maybe some people do not even notice it or some people may not even mind. Maybe some even like it, and I'm just the whiny bitch who is anal retentive about the littlest things, but I hope that people would at least understand where I am getting at here.

I do not want to offend anyone, and I hope that the scanlators do not get offended by this to the point of them dropping the series.

wow. just after finishing chapter 5, it gets resolved. hahah! I guess I should have waited? ┗( T﹏T )┛

    Heather January 5, 2018 5:23 pm

still a bit distracting, but... oh well!
it's not like I can make them redo it.

If you guys are interested, I'd like to reccomend reading chinese bl
novels like, " Quickly wear the face of the devil." This particular bovel is about Zhou Yun Sheng, who is trapped and forced by "lord god" to transmigrate to different worlds and become the villain over and over again. thus, a bad ending everytime. But after thousands of worlds and lifetimes, he was able to get enough power to hack the system. He becomes a "virus" that changes the destinies and granting the wishes of the villains or cannonfodders (side characters whose only used for development of the story and then thrown away/killed afterwards.) Thus, changing the story. All the stories are BL by the way.

Although, if you are not that familiar with chinese novel tropes, maybe this is not the best novel to start with. a lot of it deals with breaking the stereotypical storylines. I'd suggest to read some chinese manhuas or novels first. the chinese webcomics here are pretty stereotypical. Ex. Combat continent

read typical transmigration, reincarnation, shoujo, shounen, wuxia, xian xia, bl, zombie apocalypse chinese novels first? if you can, but if not, then read at your own risk. the story is really easy to read though. so, maybe even first timers can easily understand it.

You will not regret it.

Even in our own stories, we can't always be the main character.

This is such a depressing read. It makes me feel helpless and hopeless. Even during the "funny moments," I can't help but feel sad for satoki. She was at the brunt of all the things that was fucked up in her world and yet she didn't even get a good ending. She simply got an ending.

Isn't this what it feels like to be a side character? to feel that you aren't special? that you're just a dispensable tool for the development of someone else's story? I'm crying not only for her, but for all the side characters out there who didn't get a chance for their own story.

If you guys are interested, I'd like to reccomend reading chinese bl
novels like, " Quickly wear the face of the devil." its about Zhou Yun Sheng who gives side characters thier happy ending. You will not regret it. <I'll repost this part again so people can see.>

Wow. I've actually read the novel before the manhua.. ahhaha! The translation isn't that far into the story yet, so if anyone wants to read the novel, then you can easily catch up to the latest chapters.

The manhua seems to have a more "serious" version compared to the novel though. Although, I can't really say for sure, since its just the 2nd chapter. I'll probably know by the 4th chapter?

The main character and his commentary is actually pretty wacky and shameless.

I don't know how to explain it. The author writes the reality and the memories separately. The process has a lot of details. In all,it is very nice.

Whenever I read this, I am reminded of my dog who is at our house in the countryside. (I'm currently staying in the city for college.) He is an american bully named Bruno. I feel a bit homesick already!!

Its like the mangaka just wanted to be dark and brooding just for the hell of it. It feels pretentious. it doesn't really open up any ideas or opinions or perspectives at all. its just a bunch of crazy yanderes obsessing about this kid. At first you'd think its like a weird and cool manga, but after a while it just becomes, "oh, she's crazy and kills people? ok. oh, dark backstory? ok. oh, murder? ok." IT is fucked up, sure. but, so what?

This is what I sometimes hate about japanese manga/novels, they have this annoying fixation with the character instead of the plot. sure, the character does something cool or goes somewhere mysterious, but does it actually contribute anything to the overall development of the story? Most of the time, japanese mangas have a lot of filler chapters that just drag the story on to the point that it becomes a hassle to read.

    bookmunchies November 21, 2017 12:34 pm

Well, it's basically....the plot is secondary to the yandere factor, it's an accidental creation caused by the existence of the yandere. The mindset for reading this is kinda like this, I need some yandere. Like, how sometimes you feel like reading a manga with a shota seme, or a Yankee uke. The story matters less than the fact that the focus is on the type of character you feel like seeing atm.

better than seeing a bunch of big boobies
smashing each other to get some loser dick
you see the production of japan nowadays had very low standards (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜

dang thats straight for the heart. but the manga is definitely self-gratification, which i think is for the best since at least they're doing what they love (as fucked up as it is) and other people can tug along for the ride (the art is amazing for one)

The example I can think of that I agree is just for the sake of edginess is the teacher guy, but other than that, I think the story is done pretty well. At the very least, it does a good job of being frightening, which is it's objective as a horror story.

I should clarify a little. It's dark, but a story about a yandere should be dark, and the author usually does a good job of making the story dark without it feeling edgy like other stories I've read (re: mahou shoujo site, DEAD tube).
The main problem is that the author sometimes goes too far with the characters' hidden dark sides at times, like with the aforementioned teacher guy, Sato's aunt, and the crazy boss Sato blackmailed.

Isn't it interesting that the adults of this story are the most unreliable people with such dark and perverted kind of 'love'. Those children, who were brought up with those people, confronted by their ideals, slowly being corrupted and driven into madness.
Sato was empty to begin with, but because her aunt forced her beliefs on 'love' on her, she wanted to see it for herself, making her realize day by day that she cannot have it.
This is like one of the generic tropes on how someone became Yandere. Never experiencing love and suddenly having the rush. But I think there's more to it. How she was obsessed with keeping her "in a cage" at the beginning, but now wants to live with her as equals.
