so... who do you think'll die next? any bets?
Honestly, I'm really hoping that Armin doesn't die, but after that last chapter I'm beginning to see something happening, but again, I hope it's not join to happen. Also Erwin after being so hyped up and already having lost an arm, I hope he's okay too ;w; and Levi...my god, don't kill Levi...
I'm not gonna bet since Hajime Isayama loves killing off a lot more characters than I'd bet for >_<
I'm not usually a fan of shoujo manga because I do prefer yaoi, gender bender or shounen, but this manga is really awesome!
I know people don't like it that there still isn't any relationship going on with kyoko and ren, but I honestly think that that is better than having them fall deeply in love in the first few chapters.
Those cheesy "love at first sight" mangas are hackneyed and unrealistic. if this manga just focused on them 'liking' each other, and didn't give a shit on the plot and character development, then i wouldn't have read this till the hundredth chapter even. (and this manga has 300 chapters and counting.)
I think that its romance-centric mangas that are pretty weak.
we all have our own preferences and i'm just stating mine, so don't judge.
what do you think?
Even though i love this manga, I still can't even comprehend the title of Loveprize.. I can read it clearly but the words really don't seem to make sense to me... does anyone know what is the meaning of the title? or maybe the reason why that is the title? Is it some sort of Japanese word play that really can't be precisely translated into english?
Also, Viewfiner seems to be going up and down the ranks these days.. it used to be in the top spot (like always).. I guess its because it really hasn't been updated for quite a while.. Is it on hiatus again?
I think it can be taken pretty literally. Loveprize=prize of love. In other words, the object of desire, which is what Akihito is in volume one and what Asami becomes to Akihito.
In an interview or note somewhere, the mangaka talks about the continuing use of "finder" or "viewfinder" in the titles of subsequent volumes. Again, she hadn't intended the original story to become a series and would have named it something else but is now sort of locked into using "finder" in the title.
I always thought loveprize was a sort of term of endearment--like when old Germans call someone "Treasure" (although now I know many dogs named Schatzi, so I am not sure it's the same).
..."Du bist mein Schatzi im Bildsucher"? xD
I really don't think that they'd be able to save koro-sensei in the end though... Why, you may ask?
Well, I've noticed that a lot of the "important" deaths that occur in Japanese stories (Manga/anime) happen to those who hold the "parent figure" persona (Someone who always helps them and someone who is really important to them) to the main character/s
<<I know that this doesn't happen to a every manga/anime, but i think that this happens a lot or at least thats what I think..>>
In my opinion, its part of the climax of the growing up stage of the character/s. In order for the characters to become fully develop and become independent, the parent figure ( or at least someone really important) must die, because the protagonist will never be able to fulfill their destiny if there would always be someone guiding them.

I just wanna say that this is such a cute story!! don't mind the art (Cuz i know that some people can be really fussy about it)! it is really a manga worth reading!! please help me make this popular and read this and comment! This really needs an update because its so cute!!
please take a chance and read this! I swear to god that you wouldn't regret it!
This manga is fucking long. I appreciate that. but the problem is that is this still even shounen-ai? All I saw was fucking slow-burn bromance! :(( They didn't even have a concrete "relationship" all throughout the 26 volumes! Its a great story yes, but would it really kill the author for the main characters to like really kiss or at least let the main characters confess that they like each other? The ending was also a bit too abrupt. I didn't even realise that the manga was ending already. there were also a lot of things that weren't really fully resolved in the end. that is to say that there wasn't any falling action, and the conclusion was weak.
BUT!!! the manga is still great, and I really like it. there were a lot of "feels" and cute bromance... the only thing is that they didn't take their relationship one step higher.
OMG YES! I feel the exact same way! From beginning and up until the end, it was really more of borderline BL instead of shounai-ai. As much as I would like to deny and imagine them being in a relationship after that, with them never confessing or anything, it just seems like the truth is that they just considered each other as a "special best friend." It was a little disappointing at the end, but this is still one of the best I've ever read with it's sweet moments and feels ^-^
Oops meant shounen-ai. That's a sad misspelling haha ^-^"
harry potter reference it too much.
