I’ve just reread the whole thing and back when Touma saved Taichi and got his leg broken, when they were holding each other’s hand watching the last inning, Taichi said sorry to Touma thinking he would make up for it and through their linked hand the feelings would be transferred. And till the last panel, they are holding hand also and my mind was screing Yes he did make up for it （/TДT)/

God, I wish this manga will be mad famous because if so, there'll be tons of cool fan creations like arts and fics. The materials in this manga alone is too great to be forgotten once it ends.
