I kept on reading because I still wanted a happy ending for gerad and Oscar. Gerad did everything for his sister and for revenge. He never had a single moment to think for himself and now he has to suffere until the day he dies. Oscar has left too. They won’t meet again. I’m not justifying about what they did but they never had any time for themselves. Nothing happy. NOTHING AT ALL. Is Oscar happy now living somewhere ? Does he Miss gerad? Does he know that gerad is suffering every single second? Is Oscar also suffering as much as gerad? They never thought about themselves. Never had anything for themselves. Why couldn’t they get a happy ending? So gerad is the heinous villain? He did everything for his sister but his sister is now living a better life than him. WHAT ABOUT HIM??? The way I’m filled with anger and angst. At least something for him. Something a lil bit for him. Why could it not be ? I can’t read it further. I can’t. I don’t care what happy side chaps there are after 114 but I’m just here overflowing with anger and angst. The villain suffering for his entire life and never knowing if Oscar is alive, I’m about to cry. He deserved something for himself as well. A little moment of happiness, away to atone and be happy. I’m not a lil bit satisfied with the story.

Oscar didn’t want Gerard to know. He was devastated at how Gerard had manipulated him and saw his friends instability. I think Oscar just wanted to leave it all behind and have a fresh start unburdened by his mothers wishes, any future attempts to use him as a political pawn, or his own revenge. He is finally free and he is a nice guy, he will find happiness.
Gerard’s manipulation of Oscar had finished any loyalty and tarnished the friendship. Gerard’s obsession for revenge went so far beyond being a desire to protect those he cared about. It had become twisted, selfish, and cruel.
Gerard had attacked Oscar leading him to fall, then manipulated his memory situation to get his way. He had killed the previous marquis, sold weapons to enemy nations and instigated wars for profit, leading to thousands of deaths. His obsession led him to sacrifice an arm and plant poison to influence opinions, and he attempted an assassination of the prince in front of all the leaders of the nobility. No matter how good his initial intentions were, he caused so many people so much pain and had become a danger to everyone, even himself. He should have just been executed with the other heads of his family.

Why tf she’s acting like this? She didn’t even let them explain. If they start acting harmless then they will be dead. she’s so stupid and annoying at this point.

I don’t think her reaction is entirely at fault here. I believe this is a normal reaction in some situations. Before being able to accept, she went thru the first stage of denial. She has the right to her feelings of being shocked, especially since she tried so hard to get along with them and change the flow of the story. We can see the regret in her eyes when she involuntarily slaps Ein hand away. Tho she could have approached this a better way at least she eventually let Ein explain himself at the end. Which means she didn’t give up on them. She just needed the space to process everything. I just hope she sees that they were just protecting her in their own dark ways and that it was not for no reason.
This was so beautiful and emotional!!! Loved it!
The only thing I’m disappointed about is that Helena doesn’t get revived. I know that even if she did, maybe not everything would have been good for her.
But she deserved to do something for herself. I feel so sorry for her and idk how to explain that
