You are talking about them being racist to other races when many of them can't stand or are racist against mixed SK children especially if the Non Korean parent is a Pinoy etc i.e discrimination against OTHER Asians. Many of them have preconceived perception of an individual based on where he is from and are absolutely flabbergasted when someone tries to correct them. They can pass cruel and insulting remarks with a smile and see nothing wrong with it. I know a SK youtuber who would make racist jokes and would laugh at some of his viewers chastising him by saying that the viewer is too sensitive. However when he went to the states he was absolutely shocked when some of his classmates did the same to him and had a breakdown in one of his videos.
Also I find it funny how many of the non Koreans STILL seem to want to defend SK and say they are not actually that racist because they have a make believe perception of SK being this being that solely from the fact that they seem to believe whatever is shown in Kdrama and way too much into it. Some people act like they know better when even the permanent Korean residents especially high schoolers and the genz speaks out about how sexist and racist the people of the country is. It's hilarious. Blind worship and delusion based on infatuation of their sitcoms is stupidity. Their judgement is certainly clouded and are biased to the core but refuse to accept it.

It would be wrong to say that races that are the objects of racism can't be racist themselves as there are many instances in where poc acted no different that the stereotypical racists but the way how it was handled here was a definite no-no. The entire black people in South Korea being racist to the Asians since they are a small minority could have been interesting since it sheds light on how some people try to sweep their own racist actions under the rug by tooting the victim card. But here the way Daniel speaks to him gives me a headache.
He could have handled it more with nuance and dropped some one liner to the bully " what makes you think you are any different from those you hate since you act the same way?" but no, he had to use the n word and fck it up. That's not how a grown up teacher behaves. Feels like a middle school comeback rather than something that could act as a lesson for readers even if it falls flat on the bully's ears.

Why didn't the author stick what they usually do and gave the black kid bully a sad backstory like they did w the others hmm?? Or the author could of done a MORE REALISTIC story of an immigrant kid being bullied by the SKs students - that would have made heaps more sense. Yep I understand what you are saying. The thing is if we go by the backstory the author was showing of this new bullied kid where he lived - that place was supposed to be some remote countryside which has predominantly foreign population with few indigenous Koreans left as almost all of them have migrated to bigger cities. As far as I know South Korea is said to be a homogeneous country so I don't know how realistic this idea of author actually is since I can only speak for my own country where I live.
The plot of this new arc itself feels very racially motivated (I kind of feel) and poorly handled with no thoughtfulness. Very immature take I would say. Most Koreans are very much racists so it's not surprising that they did smth like this because for them they see nothing wrong with it.
