The tattoo is so fucking ugly

chaoticket December 11, 2020 2:48 am

the misogyny in this is not cool?? why. are all the girls always portrayed as being bitchy, a hive mind, and annoying. Vilifying every women just because you're a bad writer who can't think of decent antagonists is just lazy writing, and it's unoriginal to boot.

    Nilza December 24, 2020 1:15 pm

That's just how the story goes and it's not bad. The girl who confessed to Xiao Nan was not bad. The rest are just potrayed as homophobic including the guys. The only good guy besides the main couple is the friend character. So it's not "misogynistic" it's"realistic". Just because there's no good female supporting character who helps their relationship doesn't mean that it's automatically mysogynist. Please don't behave like one of those fake feminists who demand equality but everything they actually want is more like "female superiority".

    Nilza December 24, 2020 1:28 pm

I'm sorry if you didn't mean it that way. I was already frustrated because some crazy girl kicked my cousin brother in the balls for not paying attention during a conversation and when he pushed her off ( obv. because he was in pain) she criticized him for hitting a "girl" and how he was being so rude and spread bad rumours about him. And I just had an argument with them an hour ago so I'm still very pissed. I've been coming in contact with such people who think they are "entitled" or something so if you didn't mean it that way I'm sorry you can ignore this. But if you are one of them then....(sigh) I don't know I'm too tired for all this now.

There is nothing that implies I want ā€œā€ā€female superiorityā€ā€ā€ in my comment at all. Donā€™t create silly conspiratorial straw men out of me pointing out the ridiculous and vilifying portrayal of women in this story. Itā€™s not a good look. The story is not ā€œā€realisticā€ā€ by portraying essentially all women as selfish, homophobic, and evil-intentioned bitches. Iā€™m not claiming the author is necessarily misogynistic, but that it definitely reeks of misogyny. ā€œFemale superiorityā€ is a concept that does not exist, and to liken my comment to that is simply ridiculous. I canā€™t even point out how every women in this series is treated like shit without some one calling me a ā€œfake feministā€? Lmao. Thatā€™s a great example of why feminism is needed. Asking for the bare minimum respect for female characters (who are supposed to be a genuine ā€œrealisticā€ interpretation of women irl, as you pointed out) is apparently too much lol.

Well if you ignore the part that targeted you as the person, they said the girl that confessed to Xiao Nan was truthfully really decent. So saying "all the girls" in this are bxtchy wouldn't be entirely true unless you take a different perspective of her behavior. Yeah the usual clingy girls around them and the others have pretty unoriginal personalities, but its the boys around them as well. Getting easily jealous and making decisions that knowingly would hurt others (the marathon guy and the homophobic person). I would say overall the school environment and mindset there isn't the most friendly especially when there's a "H0t guY" involved. Even more so that they got easily swayed by ONE PICTURE on the internet. But I guess it goes to show how much people will interpret things how they want to interpret as.

Anyways, I think this story is pretty basic, but no too bad. Its cute and funny at points to me at least and the mc is strong mentally, not everyone can stand up for what they believe in when it contradicts social norms. Whether its lazy writing or not is up to the author, but as long as the person enjoys it for the right reasons (like realizing the fact not all girls and boys are like this) I won't have too many complaints of the story plot and characters (unless it really goes into utter shxt)

But then again, the story is not finished so maybe we could see some development in story plot and character building even if its unlikely.

Sorry for the rant, have a nice day. ā•®(ļæ£ā–½ļæ£)ā•

chaoticket December 10, 2020 8:54 pm

This story was really good, but the ending is so bittersweet because it's clear han junseo was the better developed character (between Karam and Yoosung and him) so the MC ending with the guy he admittedly liked the longest just feels disappointing and unfulfilling. Han junseo suffered from second male lead syndrome, but he was characterized and had enough screentime/development that he was basically the first male lead, so it's extra sad and unfulfilling.
If the author *intended* to make this such a bitter and sad ending, they did it perfectly. If this was supposed to be the sweet happily ever after, then this was awful.
Overall as much as i enjoyed the story, I'll never read it again bc like game of thrones, the ending kinda ruined something great for me.

    chaoticket December 10, 2020 8:55 pm

The author has another work called "Bittersweet" so I think this was probably an intentionally sad ending, in which case, damn, they did it really well.

chaoticket December 10, 2020 4:47 am

this story is so bad ā”—( Tļ¹T )ā”› do people genuinely like this crap? i'm flabbergasted lmao. from the cliche boring plot, the traced art, the overly cocky unlikeable seme asshat, the useless and naive uke who is supposed to be a strong MC but just ~can't resist~ whenever the seme touches him without his consent, like on every level, this is garbage. i wish i could get that half hour i wasted on this back (ļø¶ļøæļø¶)

chaoticket December 10, 2020 4:24 am

how is this still ongoing?? this is the perfect example of a story dragging itself out to milk out every bit of popularity it can with sub-par garbage.
this feels like BL for a middle schooler (minus the smut lmao) because all of the plot is such generic, childish and repetitive shit. I LIKE fluff, but this is Not it. this is just bad, lazy writing.
it's wholesome and cute enough, and the art is clean and attractive. but EVERY trope in this entire webcomic is cliche and overused. there's no originality, and even with the smut, frankly, this is SO fucking boring.
plus, you take out the smut and nothing changes. it's not sexy, it happens way too much, and it's redundant as hell.
idk i'm just venting. i was going to go in-depth about all the many ways this sucks, but i'm already annoyed enough at myself for wasting this much time reading this crap to begin with (ā•ÆĀ°Š” Ā°)ā•Æā•§ā•§

    Iwane December 10, 2020 5:28 am

Honestly tho, I love CBAW, but dragging out all these cliches so the story can continue is freakin draining. It doesn't add anything to the story, it just, prolongs it.

I don't disagree but it's some weirdass pandemic times and we need sh!t to read and escape reality so here we are. The art is decent, the relationship is wholesome and I did like the progression of friends to an innocent couple to a horny college couple to an adult one. It's a slice of life with a lil drama thrown in to make it interesting. Tbh the author should create a side ship than introduce awkward drama moments but it is their story.

this story is so ridiculously awful and uncomfortable???? the kidnapping, forced gender conversion, blackface, ridiculous lack of common sense or logic in ANY character,, what the genuine fuck

not sure if it's just me but cain and yahwi feel like reincarnations of jooin's pets from a previous life. cain (canis lupus) and the golden retriever behaviour are obvious enough, but even the way Yahwi has cat-like eyes, go yahwi sounds similar to ź³ ģ–‘ģ“ (goyang-i) which means cat, the exaggerated rivalry between them...

chaoticket November 18, 2020 8:34 pm

bruh you can literally see the difference in how much they love Haesoo. Taku tried to upset Haesoo because it's interesting for him to play around with the emotionally-fragile Haesoo. Joowon grew up, changed his behaviour and attitude towards Haesoo, to AVOID upsetting him.
How can you put them on the same level (怜ļæ£ā–³ļæ£)怜 Even if they got together Taku's shallow-ass "love" would fade quick, like he's already admitted to just using people who are convenient/interesting for him. Whereas Joowon sacrifices how many years of his life in a contract for a job he doesn't want just to protect Haesoo. IDK how you can claim Taku is better like the boy didn't have good intentions to start with and his "love" is hollow

chaoticket November 18, 2020 5:36 am

Yahwi gives such small dick energy, calling Cain a "son of a bitch" completely out of nowhere like that... like i get why it makes Cain look shady but Cain was much more crafty and classy lmao. I like how sly he is bc it doesn't seem like he has bad intentions towards Jooin whereas Yahwi seems like he just wants to get his dick wet and doesn't care about Jooin. anyways i'm still holding out for Cain fucking Yahwi silly.

????? what kind of ridiculous logic is that. It's like saying "We're not the president, so I guess we should all stop caring about politics or the economy" or "We're not doctors, so we shouldn't care about other people's lives." NOBODY is claiming to be the author, nobody is claiming to 100% know the outcome of this story. All we are doing is discussing the things we are reading, and it completely baffles me that you're against that lmao.
Like........ people are allowed to have opinions and discuss things they read, and they are allowed to dislike things and criticize it.... that's literally the basis of ANY critical thinking.
And if it you're sensitive to that and it bothers you that people have opinions you disagree with, you don't have to interact with it, but don't try to censor others lmao.

People are throwing around the word 'toxic' but judging by how they use it, I don't think they even know what it means. I also don't think the people throwing around heavy terms like that have ever had real IRL relationships (aside from like middle school crushes lol).
Relationships are complicated. People are flawed -- often VERY flawed -- and often do bad things. That doesn't mean there is no hope for them or their relationships, it means growth and change is needed, and that they have to apologize and do better going forward. Acting as if Taku/Joowon are both evil devils in Haesoo's life is a very childish way of looking at it, because both of them are complex, flawed beings who do shitty things, but are capable of doing better (at least Joowon is, idk about Takuļ¼ˆļæ£ćøļæ£ļ¼‰), and Haesoo is not a victim, he's equally at fault for allowing all the shit w Joowon (sleeping w others to egg him on, even) and using Taku as a rebound for Joowon when Taku clearly only sees him as an temporary obsession he'll eventually discard.
They're not toxic, they're human, and they're the nasty type we pretend we aren't. If you're so bothered by the drama and the ''''''toxicity''''' is too much for you, go back to shounen-ai fluff and stay out of the drama tag lol.

    Tortugas November 14, 2020 3:50 pm

I agree with you about the language, along the lines of it being reductive and inappropriate. Itā€™s terminology for a younger generation, though. Probably most people reading are younger and not very experienced, but I donā€™t think having strong feelings about the characters is necessarily a sign of immaturity, or vis versa. There are no right or wrong answers when it comes to fiction; itā€™s not a standardized test. Of course, thereā€™s author/artist intent, but once a work is born into the world it takes on its own life dependent upon the reader/viewer.

    Jubie November 14, 2020 7:03 pm

I completely agree with you. I kind of tried to make a similar case a while back but I don't think I put it as eloquently lol. Some of these readers often immediately tag something as "toxic" just because the way the characters handle their feelings for one another doesn't meet some kind of status quo or their standard of what a romance should be. I think the author has done a pretty impeccable job of showing how hard relationships can be and how complicated humans and their emotions are. People keep calling Tai's feelings for Haesoo "obsessive" but that's just kind of how you act when you're head over heels for someone. He's honestly kind of relatable in that aspect. Having people comment on how his work is more romantic his work is with this gallery is a sign the author is saying he truly likes Haesoo. As an artist myself, a lot of times our emotions come through in our work. Even if he may be acknowledging he may not be Haesoo's top priority, his willingness to stay with Haesoo until he cuts off their relationship himself is very, very human and shows his vulnerability in the whole thing. He wants to make things work but he's waiting on Haesoo to tell him if he wants to or not. At least he's making an effort. In my opinion, it's a little unfair to call this effort and his feelings an "obsession" because when you like or love someone enough, you sometimes do stupid things and act irrationally. Then again, I may be speaking from a stand point of someone who has been in somewhat of a similar position I'm not a Taku stan or anything, honest.

I do like that Joowon is kind of coming to terms with things on his own and that definitely shows growth. It does seem like he's the more obvious choice because Haesoo obviously also loves him and they were just dealing with things the wrong way. That doesn't make him toxic, you're right. Both of them were, yet again, just acting on instinct because the love each other and both of them did things that hurt each other, but if this story started out with them both already having sorted themselves out, it wouldn't be much of a story would it? Lol. Also, some of the strongest relationships are the ones that have been put through the most hell. They weren't only fighting the fact that their relationship was wrong because they're both men in a country where it's still widely taboo but also because they were step brothers. Not to mention the endless cycle of denial. If they come out of this together, they'll come out of it stronger as long as they can simply accept the fact they love each other romantically.

Sorry! My fingers just kind of possessed me and I just kept going lol. But yeah, in short I agree with you and these characters are indeed only human. None of the three of them are bad people, just humans making bad decisions.

    EilaneDash November 14, 2020 9:16 pm

Thanks for posting that, I needed someone to say it.

I've read this manwha in something like 3 days (and not less because I stopped myself, wanting to enjoy it more) and I really loved it. The love between the three main characters is so complex, it feels so real, so human, even raw.

And then I went in the comment section and saw many people throwing the word "toxic" without explanations or anything. I was a pretty disappointed to read such a reaction, but as someone else said, I also think most of those people are young and use this word without really grasping its meaning.

So, yeah, it needed to be said.
