the last panel sheds a different light on their relationship. i thought they only felt a relative duty or life destiny to protect mc for the prophecy. but now seeing that they met him when he was a baby… they probably have a unconscious, deeper attachment than we think
which makes this even more interesting and saddening. found family is my favorite trope but there’s definitely going to be a lot of future pain as their bond strengthens and as they deal with horrible situations
we need side stories now!!! i didn’t think they would end this soon, but i loved how it finished . i think making tae meet child hyo again was necessary for the tae to get closure on their past. unlike hyo, tae never got the chance to reminisce on their old dynamic because his first life was so fleeting
plus, i love concepts where couples meet the younger version of their partner. it’s the most heartwarming thing
prime and extreme example of codependency is my bread and butter. the remorse, longing, tenderness, and desperation always eating at ml and making him do either the most awful or selfless shit
then mc has to make amends with his entire situation constantly but is slowly starting to fall in love seeing the care and dedication ml has put in. they need each other or else they’ll crumble and fall apartヾ(☆▽☆)
yk when people complain about caesar shooting mc, it was really annoying because the excuse was always “he’s in the mafia what do you expect” but the problem wasn’t the action itself or readers expecting some fairy tale fluffy romance. the issue with it was the lack of common sense and overall intelligence caesar should have. the shooting was unexpected because of the lack of build up. with how smart and calculating he is i felt like the reaction was… confusing and drastic ??? when it really could’ve been solved with one conversation instead of going from 0-10000
i feel the same way now with this self-mutilation… because leewon was obviously teasing and messing with caesar in order to hear him say sorry, and was clearly not serious. but again as a result of ceasars idiocy and impulsiveness, he crashed out for the dumbest mf reason
He tried shooting a child and (in the novel) did necro with a woman who tried to kill him and had sex with dmitri once,.
It's not shocking why he'd do what he does because we know hes unhinged (not defending him) you should read the novel.
In the novel he literally thought of raping lee won the moment they bumped into eachother... The manwha is shockingly more tame than the novel (>0<;)
thanks for explaining it! this did not help me understand or like him though LMAO
but it gives more context for his character, instead of making his actions only annoying and shocking. had they introduced him as an insane and psychotic character from the start, or we heard his inner thoughts i would’ve seen the shooting/self mutilation as a sensible plot choice
imo the writing of the webtoon is bad, in terms of characterization. i don’t like when bad characters are evil without context or some type of explanation/motive. the times when we saw him take his anger or emotions out on leewon, it was out of nowhere and over the smallest of reasons. i felt like it clashed with his overall persona and reduced him to an abusive crash out bf
He was pushed into a world filled with violence and didn't receive any love as he was growing up, having to kill, defend and do sadistic acts in order to survive, a world like that would fuck up your perspective in your formative years.
When children often get exposed to those levels of violence they often rely on other forms of comfort even if its unhealthy wether it be self harm or sex. Violent environments create violent people, and as Ceasar grew older and became an adult he mixed violence with his sex life. (Something I can partially relate to.)
Since he was also an heir to an influential mafia group he's also probably used to getting what he wants, that's why he cares less about consequences and cares more about results, like when he faked his death by having to be stabbed to fool the traitors and endangering lee won to execute the rat.
If you lived in a world where empathy can get you killed, you'd have to turn into a monster. Although what he does isn't justified, there are explanations on why he commits heinous acts.
Again not defending him but he wasn't born evil, he's just a product of two People who we're burned by the fire of their cruel environment and then passing that torch to burn Cesar aswell, rather than give him warmth.
So yeah long story short, his environment was fucked up so that's why he's like that
ok while i get that, my issue is how they don’t show this in the webtoon… i get where u are coming from, but i don’t care about caesar enough to research or sympathize with him . my main takeaway is only about the lack of context + characterization. lowkey your statement makes implies i knew all this about caesar, but chose to disregard it and say ignorant things about someone who grew up in horrible conditions. im well educated in how nature and nurturing a child can influence their behavior/outlooks towards the world!! but my focus is complaining about how badly written the story was, and sure while i get the novel explained it- the webtoon fails to
without his lore, he basically looks like a flat, toxic, and violent character who has worse communication skills than a baby. with all the info you gave on him it further proved i truly dgaf about this evil caucasian man LMAO
the potential this story has is amazing!! but it relies too much on characters avoiding the obvious. i get the ml is some type of entity and is extremely strong based off what we’ve seen so far with him being able to manipulate, change, and even block memories
but imo there should’ve been a slow realization of mc struggling to question things. for example, he was accepting of everything the brother did and didn’t look into why he was okay with it. and then also not finding it weird no one could “see” his hyung the same. while the hyung was probably responsible for his lack of doubt, my thing is mc left these issues alone and we weren’t shown why/he was completely fine with life altering and strange situations constantly. seeing him have conflict with his own perception of reality in minor ways would’ve helped the story flow more!
what’s with this artist and having badly written works? and no idgaf if it involves violence, rape, revenge, toxicity, or whatever. a story can have these without it being badly written. but this authors characters are always lacking… the vengeance/crimes are never valid compared to initial wrongdoing and there’s always a clear sadistic psycho who “wins” in the end
the chemistry, facial expressions, and art style will always carry. again, i always wish this artist would hire a good author/storyboard consultant to plan out the direction of their stories
it still makes me emotional that it took him a while to realize he truly cares for his family, so seeing that the people around him make it known they appreciate his presence in place of them… tears in my yaoi eyes
he thought he was just existing in the background, but was unknowingly warming the hearts of others
i expected it but seeing him all shy, blushy, and crying??? i love when bottoms get overwhelmed and emotional, the butterflies in my stomach were going haywire
if you’re dissatisfied with the positions you must be insane and small minded. if you think short = bottom and tall = top only… BORING!!! i support them as a switch couple not because of the height difference but something actually exciting- the gap moe (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
to me, her character really shined when she decided to comfort her brother in her own way instead of how the og princess did. it showed how empathetic she could be, without relying on the novel. but lately none of the characters including mc, show growth in their closest relationships or selves
i was looking forward to seeing the family develop more and even see them flesh out in personality but all the characters except og princess have been stale… the brothers aren’t given a personality/life of their own outside of how phil sees them, and she herself hasn’t been able to accept others love her. however i still get why she believes her dads don’t love her because both situations are completely traumatizing + it’s different with parents you expect to love and cherish you!! one neglected, hated, and killed her while the other didn’t even care a single bit, so im still on her side with this one
round him up!! he’s deeply unsettling and obsessed with her #need that. i have a feeling he’s a hottie under there but if he’s actually just evil and gross, ignore me.
(don’t answer my question with spoilers)
I agree. His obsession could be turned to pure love. Just add him to the harem! I think he is a cutie under all that get up.
Exactly, I hope Kakana will just 'add to cart' that demon so that there is less danger. Lmaoo
