At the beginning we see how the MC was a sort of hero as a child. Turns out the person he saved as a child was the guy who lost his girlfriend, while the girlfriend was the person bullying him as a child as a way to get his attention. While the MC was being possessed the guy got confused since he didn't know whether he still liked his girlfriend or started liking the MC.
