This was more fulfilling and plot filled than BLs with 90 chapters. Like freaking magic honestly . I love loved the characters and their design, the romance was sickening and the action amazingly done. I could not ask for this to be any better and would read 90 chapters of this. All the comments praising this are spot on.

This is like crack . I can’t get enough, I think there’s probably 100s of fanfics with this exact story line and the characters especially the Duke and the Prince are a red ass flag but this story has me hooked. Please tell me this is a webnovel so I can just be put out of my misery, who does he end up with!? He seems to have some feelings for the Duke? Which I endorse but an ot4 also sparks joy.

This is sooo good!.
Something I thought was so interesting was Pilgyeong. In a lot of BLs, if the story was tweaked a lil he would’ve been the main love interest. I mean we’ve seen it a million times before, pushy obsessive chaebol and the MC ends up falling for him. He’s literally that exact archetype. I thought it was such a great inversion that we actually got to see that he was a bad person even though he had redeeming qualities. I loved that Soongap was having none of it and his utter disdain was refreshing.
Another thing is the lack of materialism in this, 90% of BL (especially manwhas) have one of the MCs be rich or powerful. Here they are the poorest. It was really moving to see how the slaves and normal people lived. Struggling to feed themselves, at the whims of the rich and the realities of survival. I love the Soongap was happiest when he was with Bongchun living off the land. I felt like the author and artist really allowed the readers to understand how life must’ve been like. The simple food, the rarity of new clothes, the specialness of rice cake with flowers in it, the leather shoe that made me tear up. All these details that gave this story a lot of depth. Very impressed.

Your comment really connected with me. Pilgyeon had everything to be the ML but obvious circumstances prevented that…being siblings…. I feel sorry for him. They should’ve made him ugly, hahaha, pretty privilege is real, his long gorgeous hair…I feel conflicted like when I read My Suha’s side story. It be nice to see him get a second chance.

Haha. No I get what you mean, he is sooo fine and more my type than Bongchan. Pretty privilege is real. I don’t think the brother thing was the real problem, it’s a common enough taboo trope ngl. The author definitely intended for him to be the bad guy outside of the incest.
Pilgyeong is the personification of the terrible top that’s so common and the author deliberately cast him as the villain (but not in a sexy likable way) to show how framing can change how we view characters. Even if they weren’t bros I don’t think the author would ever let the MC get together with him because at the core of it, he’s a terrible possessive human being.
I do want to see a side story with him though in an alternate universe where he lets the MC go.
This manwha, I keep coming to it every week. It has an unholy hold on me. It’s so funny too. “Smacked of desperation and fraudulence.” And “I am that rich.” Made me lol. I hate and love Nakwon, he’s the worst.
