I am crying. Like many, this is one of the first BLs I read and to see it’s ending, I’m very emo. Would just like to say that the writer has done such an amazing job not just with the characters but the plot too. They’ve tied everything up so perfectly and all the side characters felt like fleshed out people.
I love that the end goal of Shin the Kingmaker was to eventually dismantle God ordained kinghood so all the people could attain kinghood equally. So many interesting and well thought out convos to lead to that point. I love love that Wolfgang was truly the benevolent king most importantly giving up his throne for the start of a new era. I even love the cop out magical pregnancy.
I love the idea of the Prevailed. Interesting and heartbreaking concept. The art was so well done and I really felt like the artist loved the story and its characters.
Lastly, Shin and Wolfgang kill me like no other BL couple do. I don’t really enjoy fluff and the last 40 chapters are basically fluff but my heart hurt in a painfully good way. I truly think their relationship could not be done better. Just perfect in every way.
I love love the Randen &/ the kind student not confirmed relationship whatever form it might take. The cherry on top.
My standards are high af and this is the one of the few that I truly love and have almost zero notes for (depending on how it works out in the end). Shin is so well written, he doesn’t fall into character trope traps. Like the author actually put effort into writing him as a person with personality outside of the story and the romance. Jay is Jay, I accep it (okay maybe a few tiny notes about him).
Cannot wait for this to come back and I can’t express my excitement to see more of Shin.
I want to read this so so badly but I can’t commit to a love triangle. The art is amazing but I refuse to put myself through this, I’m gunning hard for TJ and my poor heart can’t take it if he turns out to be a mega bad person. I find the other guy so incredibly bland to read. The comments do not inspire confidence either. Will read it when I know the end game.
TJ is literally the biggest red flag. Ian had the opportunity to leave the gang life and pursue his dream as a racer. TJ screwed up his chances by orchestrating a situation where Ian killed someone in self defense. And on top of that, TJ friggin MADE SURE HE SERVED HARD JAIL TIME for it despite knowing he could have gotten him out of it. He is the worst.
huh?? what the hell are you talking about? tj didn't order anyone to kill ian where did you get that from? did you read the story bruh??
let me explain to you since you don't seem to get it. ian killed that guy in self defense, tj literally had nothing to do with it please go reread. ian called tj in a panic, and once tj saw ian's reaction, tj knew that the only way ian would ever be okay after this was if he actually got what ian thinks he deserves and went to jail. ian would have never been okay or even accepted the fact that tj paid some lawyers so ian can walk away like he hadn't done anything. that's literally why tj let ian go to jail, because ian was so mentally unstable that he would've felt extremely guilty for not going to jail after murdering a person.
please don't listen to them they literally have read something wrong because what they said is just false. none of what they said actually happened in the story i think they are confused. if you don't believe me, read my reply and read the story for yourself. none of what they said happened i can promise you that no one made anyone kill anyone bruh
My toxic trait is loving this series . There’s only so much non-con I can take and from Horus? Come on. It irritates me that things just happen to Seth and he’s never given actual agency, I really hope we can move into a satisfying arc of badassery and actual redemption.
Horus is so paper thin as a character. His only character traits are being jealous and being obsessive, he deserves better. I love slow burn and it’s soooo hard to find actual slow burn so this series is perfect in that regard.
Have yet to figure out what’s up with the curse, feel like that’s not a me problem but a story telling/translation problem.
Also, so glad we got comments back. Have suffered alone with my thoughts haha.
This manwha... Just incredible I could cry. The tension between the Shin and Jake is so real and passionate, genuinely the best I've ever read. The last 2 chapters T T so good! I love the way they hold each other, it speaks so much to how they feel. Shins hands coming up to grasp Jakes, the way he holds unto his arm. It's exquisite.
Wow, I’ve been mixing this up with Legs that Don’t Walk for like 2 years and had avoided it. This is a revelation and feel like a dumbass for missing out. Blown away and so impressed by the author. I don’t enjoy too much smut and this one has one every 2 chapters but it made sense within the context of the story.
There was a shocking amount of plot and executed perfectly. The author clearly loved this story and its characters. Everything made actual sense both plot as well as character motivation wise. I loved over arching story of generational trauma and breaking the cycle. Of depression and brokenness, especially how the MCs weren’t healed magically by the power of dick and love.
The ending is perfect. More sweet than bitter(the perfect amount of bitter). I loved how they acknowledged how toxic they were and healing together, finding moments of beauty and love within it. The story was told in just the right amount of chapters too. Gonna cry now because I’m sad that it’s over and I’ll never be able to relive its perfection for the first time. I’ll definitely read it again.
You should read this author's other works as well. All of them are just amazing.
