1. The art is spectacular. Delicious. Give me 14 more of them. I do wish the author made Daun and Areum look a little bit different. At least the eye or hair color. That’s just me though.
2. I truly believe that Daun has or will have genuine feelings for Seula. It seemed like Daun fell for her all the way back in middle school (maybe?). Nuri (Dauns ex) is going to be a problem. I know an antagonist when I see one. But it does seem like Daun is playing around with her but then she’ll end up realizing that she really likes Seula.
3. I don’t think Areum has feelings for Seula. I’ve seen people writing that and I just don’t get that vibe at all. It seems like Areum likes the man she’s engaged to but it seems like he’s flaky which is making her have second thoughts (understandable). I think it’s clear that Seula and Daun are endgame.
I need authors to stop making characters dense and dumb as a bag of rocks. This is a common theme in every romance sub-genre. Yaoi, shoujo, etc. When Pinky said, “you can think for yourself after all.” I felt that because Minjis character just wasn’t cutting it. Making a character naive, overly trusting and forgiving is so played out and then their love interest is the opposite. I’m not saying that they can’t be nice but let’s have some backbone.
I felt like no one really had a personality in this story. The only time I saw their personality shine was in the flashbacks of them in high school. I wish this story would’ve started off with them in high school and then fast forwarded it to them in college.
Pinky’s reason for trying to draw a wedge between Yuna and Minji made no sense to me. It was stupid. I know there’s an antagonist in every story but Pinky was a stupid villain.
It’s overdone but having Pinky be in love with Yuna or Minji without the whole dominatrix thing would’ve made more sense. Overdone but more logical. And then at the end, it’s just like, “okay. We forgive you.” She did some awful shit.
Lastly, the art is stunning. I don’t care what anyone says. It’s the only reason I didn’t drop it.
Overall: 3/5.
I really love stories like this and I really hate them at the same time. There’s nothing I love more than seeing someone get their get-back. I know the FL is going to eventually and it’s going to be glorious. This story depicts abuse so well and how people become complacent in relationships. I tend to hate pitiful characters, but I can’t hate the FL because of the realism. The author did a good job in that regard. Showing the decline of a once healthy relationship. How you grow to end up resenting your partner. You have one that is full of resentment and the other that is trying so hard to hold on to it. Ex-husband is a piece of shit and I will not be excusing any of his actions.
NOW, the hate. ML is obsessive and a stalker. The fact that he’s pretending to be POOR in order to gain brownie points and relatedness. I also know he’s going to wrap the FL up in some bullshit (unintentionally but still). There better not be any SA or I’m going to flip the fuck out. It’s the calm before the storm. Things are going to get worse before they get better and that’s where the hate comes in. She’s been through so much and I really wish the ML was more of a “normal” guy. He can have the money and charm but I hate the whole “mobster, obsessed, lack of communication, son of a rich man” trope.
The FL either did something nice for the ML or in front of him for him to be so enthralled with her or he has mommy issues. You don’t become obsessed with someone over night. Or maybe you do. We’ll see.
I’m going to let this cook because I can’t wait for the FL to blossom and find the light at the end of the tunnel.
I see some people hating on the MCs personality but I think for this particular story, it makes sense. This is his 100th time dying and reliving the same fate over and over. Coupled with him being excessively bullied, his parents dying, seeing his brother also bullied and blinded, and having to become the guardian of his brother at such a young age.
Life has not been nice to this guy so it makes sense that his heart is hardened. I think we can definitely see that he has empathy and clearly loves and cares for his brother. But it’s literally his last chance to not only save himself but his family and basically the last remaining people on earth. There is no room for error. I prefer the stoic personalities opposed to the over the top, too cocky, immature personalities. The nice and humble personalities are always the best though. I hope we’re able to see him open up a little bit more as the story goes along.
Are people not allowed to give criticism? Comments don’t always have to be positive and praiseworthy. If a story has some shitty aspects then it has some shitty aspects. “You knew from the beginning what kind of story it was.” Yes. But after 50+ chapters, maybe, just maybe, people expected some change. “It’s just fiction. If you don’t like it, don’t read it.” But that’s the beauty of books, Webtoons, anime, manga, music, etc. People come together and talk about their love (or hate) for certain works because at the end of the day, it’s a work of art. I have a strong respect for people creating and putting their artistic work out there but the public is allowed to criticize or praise it.
People have whole ass careers and fan bases reviewing movies and TV shows/anime. I, for one, love reading the comments and interacting with people. If I loved a story and someone else hated it, I’d love to hear why. I talk shit about mangas/Webtoons and books all the time but at the end of the day, it’s all in fun and I’m respectful.
Stop being a grumpy butt just because someone doesn’t like your a story you really like and they comment their thoughts on it.
Sooooo. I think many of us are in agreement that the MC ain’t it. I hate how authors write the MCs trying to follow the story to a T and they spend so much of their time doing that. Aria admitted that she treated Axel differently than his stepfather and was kinder and then she turned around acting all surprised that he was hurt. In the novel she read about him, it basically said he had abandonment issues. Aria is not the victim. If anything, she should be apologizing. “I ruined the male lead” or whatever the fuck she said. Girl bye.
Art is bombastic though. Love it. Did it change like three times? Yes but still good.
This is the kind of GL stories I need! I’m living for it. I want this to become an anime so bad. The art. The clothing style. Ughhhhhh. I need to see it animated. Not sure how it would work with all the classic rock in there (copyright). Also, as a rock n roll fan, this story is *chefs kiss*. Music is the window to the soul.
More futch women in gl!!
