If you think about it. Eusungās affection was like a sand castle. He keeps building and nurturing it it DESPITE the sand didnāt ask to be built. Then when the wave reaches and wash away all the sand (Eusungās feeling), he just ghosted it and started building another sand castle elsewhere, not caring at all about how the old sand feels
Not until Jiwoo basically broke himself completely apart did Eusung realized and actually faced with his own toxicity, trying to set things right. Before this, he always brushed it off even when his best friends noticed and tried to confront him about it
If they didnāt get together, the new freshman will just be another victim of Eusungās cruel act, and the cycles will keep repeating until he meets someone crazy enough to end him
Itās actually quite interesting because this type of people exists in real life too. They crush hard with real feelings, try their best to win the affection of their romantic targets. Then when they finally get together, it becomes āboringā and āuninterestingā for them so they dump their (old) crush and find another target
