In most cases it’s difficult to get someone punished by the law if they are a sibling of the victim and a minor. From my experiences, the police only give warnings to the abuser, but even if they do it again, there are still no consequences. Although I do despise my parents for barely punishing my sibling, I would put the blame mostly on the bullshit law system.
