These smartasses in the comment being edgy & keep spewing stuff about the "bigger picture" and "deep stuff" & "ppl do not know how to read between the lines" & "chara dev doesn't happen overnight" shit
Are we not allowed to react anymore? Lol! We're just venting, why are you being a stuck up douche policing ppl how to react to the story?
Comment on the story, not the commenters lol

Ppl are writing essays reprimanding others because they hate character A or B & listing off things why it's hypocrisy lolllll this is srsly not that deep. Readers can like whoever they want & they are not entitled to explain it to you
You are free to write pieces about your own opinion, don't go telling other ppl what to think about the characters/story. This manhwa does not contain deep issues that requires a lengthy debate
Team Hwi btw lol

If this webtoon is still remotely similar to the novel,

A Bit of Spoiler
That black haired dude is not really Claude's brother but merely the Lucas-obsessed wizard who had to use tons of black magic to keep being alive.
So him being a douchebag & using Jeannette for his own gain is not far fetched, because he is no one's father.
But if this webtoon still have the audacity to change even that part of the plot, then lol go crazy, I won't expect anything anymore

It is still Athanasius, and I believe Athanasius' appearance is exactly like that black haired dude.
If you don't mind novel spoilers,
.
.
Athanasius' character shouldn't have any more reappearance after his story with Claude was told. He was just dead. In the novel, all the things this black haired dude did was done by a character named Carax, who was Aeternitas in a random person's body. Aeternitas was one of Obelia's king who longed for Lucas' recognition & loyalty but never got it. He engaged in multiple black magic practices to keep being alive to get back to Lucas someday.
And mind you, Jeannette was a product of black magic anyways. She was not normal and technically speaking she has no real parents. Athanasius & Claude's ex-fiancee made Jeannette together with black magic.

I think we could all agree that there are flaws in the characterizations, but you have to understand that Ibelina leaving Alejandro is actually vital in order for the plot to move and the characters to mature. They need to be apart to make sure that whatever feelings may develop and has developed is not just the attachment from trying to lift the curse.
.
And srsly, you have to think of their positions. If you've read other isekais with this theme before, you have to realize they are heavens apart when it comes to status. Like, barons have titles but they are still considered lowest of the chain, what more if you're a maid, right? And Alejandro is but a young man trying to adapt in the royal world, he can't just defy odds just yet. He must grow first as a person and as a noble to be able to plan intelligently. Because as of now, he's a slave to his emotions.
.
I do agree on some sentiments about the FL not realizing she changed a large chunk of the plot, but so far everything except her having lifted the curse is all according to the novel. The duke's death, the duchess' downfall, and even Ale's grave seizures. She is kinda slow but there is some logic in her way of thinking. But maybe that part where she thinks Eleonor will be a good match for Ale is BS lol.
.
Other MCs in isekais is surely more impressive than this webtoon's, but this one doesn't get the luxury of at least having a title. She became a maid, for crying out loud. If their masters happen to be tyrants, they could be beheaded with a small mistake.
.
.
Also, you ppl should stop calling the FL a btch and other derogatory insults, she hasn't even done something evil! I'd understand if it's the King who used other's precious child to pass the curse grrr
.
Yep, I'm done ranting

.
.
.
.
.
.
Ibelin is not a villainess nor that much of a btch, but she is a little bit self-absorbed and thinks the world revolves around her. There will also be times where she'll hate Latte because you know how our MC really deserves some of that attention lol
.
.
And so actually Ibelin does end up with the Prince, however the Prince married her not as the Queen to be, but just one of his wives. He somehow lost his fire for her in the middle. Ibelin somehow finds her peace after having a child. She's finally content as a mom. And then the Prince falls for her again lol
.
.
There's also a spinoff where the Duke and Latte ends up together, but as for the canon world, they are friends.
.
.
And ofc it's Arwin x Latte ftw!

Here u go https://newtoki58.com/webtoon/144007?toon=일반웹툰 :)

Our MC was supposed to be Beatrice (so she really was supposed to be the heroine), however because of the OG!Raeliana and her black magic shenanigans, OG!Raeliana swapped souls with Beatrice and our MC became Raeliana.

What I get is that og!raeliana was poisoned by her husband, then the news reached og!beatrice so og!beatrice went back to investigate what happened to her friend, and that's when she met noah.
Then maybe og!beatrice reincarnated to korea, then read a book about beatrice amd Noah's story, then she was pushed off a bldg, died(?), then reincarnated back to the book's story, but in raeliana's body this time.
The og!raeliana should be dead so i don't know when or how she got the time to find the witch but since she was able to do this scheme, she must have found her way to that witch(?) one way or another then 'restar' their story again but this time swapped bodies with og!beatrice, so that she can have the good times (read: alive and happy with noah).
I haven't read the novel, so this is what i currently understand.

This webtoon has the same "author is god" theme like the Abandoned Empress. It is not clear, but it is presumed that the one who pushed her to death was the author because her soul is supposed to go to Beatrice. Her last wish in her previous body which is to pass the exams was granted to her in exchange of her soul going to another world. Some details are not clear, tho.
I have read the 36 chaps in one go & I understand why other readers are frustrated. The premise is good but the execution is kind of lacking. The way the plot goes isn't building a good hype & the hints they are supposed to be dropping are either non existent or too weak. Like, I see the story interesting but boring at the same time.
I am ofc curious of how the story would progress but every chapter doesn't really meet my expectations. Character sketches are good enough but they don't have enough personality to make them stand out. As of now, Nadir is who I see standing out because he is annoying (lol), but I feel indifferent among the rest. They're not... captivating enough. I also noticed the way they are drawn are not much expressive. They are almost always poker faced.
I also don't understand the hate for Amina's character. Maybe indifference, yes, but others cursing her makes me wonder if we're reading the same story. She's bland at best, but not even hateful.
I am not saying I don't like this as a whole. I'm still interested. Just hope the story telling would be on par with the premise.
