have you read liar game? it's a survival based manga about probability, money, and debt.
Also another manga is one-outs, which blends psychological with sport. It's hilariously badass because the mc acts like the spawn of satan who manipulates anything and everyone.
Oh yesss, Liar Game was amazing. Though the ending leaves open for a sequel (which might never come).
One-outs, however, I haven't read it yet. Sports-centered manga aren't really my thing (save for KnB and Haikyu), but since I've only heard of good things about it, and your description certainly piqued my interest, I'll definitely read it!
Thank you so much~ ( ノ●'◡'●)ノ✧
Felt like I’ve wrote too much in that topic so I’ll say it here instead but yes, it’s definitely traumatising. I’m contemplating on whether to add it to my list just to traumtise others too.
hard nope. unless you count the basic expressions every standard weebs know, then i unfortunately don't know how (though i did try a few times, and the result was always cringey).
i always wanted to learn on speaking and writing the language, but i never got around to it sadly (most probably because i'm lazy af) ( ̄へ ̄)
I can relate to you on a spiritual level, honestly. I wanted to learn Japanese but whenever I try, I just end up finding a reason as to why I can’t. I was also hella confident in my Jap just bc I assumed that anime was a basic Japanese tutor- typical weeb thinking way right? Clearly, I was wrong because I couldn’t even converse with my relatives without adding english words lol.
haha, well at least you're now living in the country itself. at least the environment would help you in learning the language more naturally. you've got the time and place so you'd inadvertently learn it one way or the other.
also, i can't help but ask if you've encountered any juicy bl situations, or met any fujos and fudans? (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
True, I ended up improving quite a lot but I’m still slow in the reading. I’m not even confident enough to translate mangas lmao. And nah, sadly haven’t encountered any of that in Japan but surprisingly though, I encountered a lot when I lived in Uk. I met a fujoshi when I accidentally revealed the fact that I read yaoi lmfao and turns out she reads them too. My life is pretty boring tbh, other than the fact that I see eye-candies everywhere I go.
Yess. Ironic how a talk about a very strange video turns into a convo of unrelated things lol. So where are you actually from, if you don’t mind me asking. Oh and funny thing about the fujo that I met was that she was actually very religious so I thought it would’ve creeped her out. She ended up being one of favs to chat with about yaoi lol.
lol ikr. but idk if i'd call it as just "very strange".. more like traumatizing. ( ̄∇ ̄")
i'm from PH, though i never usually disclose it unless asked because it lessens the air of anonymity or some such. (⌒▽⌒)
oho, i guess you can never expect that the most unexpected people might share the best common interests with you. makes me wonder if the 'straightest' men around me might actually be into BL. (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
also, the way my fujo best friend found out that i was a fudan was because she accidentally read the notes in my phone where i stated that i was a hardcore fudan. ε=(ノ≧∇≦)ノ
Oooh, I literally have a japanese flag next to my name so I guess I’m quite open about my nationality. I have never come across a straight male that’s interested in yaoi, they get grossed out by it on the contrary. The thing about me is that whenever I read yaoi is that I get bored of it easily. Currently I’m reading a lot of yaoi just to fill my new list up but that’s all there is to it. It’s been on my mind but can a Japanese person be counted as a weaboo?
i have met at least 3 straight males who are fudans, though not all irl. i met two of them in a Line groupchat, and one of them irl (though he only said that he prefers yaoi than yuri so i can't really say he's a fudan, or if he does read bl).
and yeah, i definitely can relate. i started off with typical genres of manga back then, even shoujo. but then i slowly got consumed by bl, and i got more and more uninterested in straight romance. recently though, i do grow a bit bored after reading a lot of bl so i switched it up by reading anything that interests me (even going back to some shoujo stories though mostly isekai and fantasy type), and trying out new genres like yuri.
oh man, don't even bring up lists, i get dizzy just making and organizing them. it was a lil easier on my part bc i only chose mostly non-bl ones (save for 2 particular lists), but as a lazy person, it was still quite a hassle. ( ̄∇ ̄")
also, since a weaboo refers to westerners, i don't think it can be applied. i think the more apt term is just old taco— oh sorry, i meant otaku. (≧∀≦)
That’s actually quite interesting. Ive never met any fudanshis but I have seen some accounts here claiming that they’re fudanshis. There was this one kiddo that claimed to be a fudanshi but when I saw her ig, she was a 12 yo girl so I really don’t have much trust in the claims of being fundanshis anymore lmao. Bro, lists are tiring asf! I have a list called forbidden garden and long story short, I gave up on it. I gave a lot of effort for my reincarnation lists tho- which took me days to actually create lmao. It’s sort of useful because I tend to forget the stories after some time passes. I also used to try to avoid yuri because it’s just not my type of thing but nowadays I’ve been stumbling upon interesting ones. I try to avoid reading the explicit scenes though- I think I’m just not really comfortable in imaging girls making out which is ironic bc I read yaoi lmao.
aha, i see. i'm in a line groupchat consisting of only fudans, and we're quite a lively, vulgar bunch, and we just talk about all kinds of things, even the most random ones. ε=(ノ≧∇≦)ノ
we have some ways of knowing if they're really a guy or nah one way or another (since it's part of the requirements).
also, i'm the same. the reason why i didn't do bl lists is bc i forgot most of the generic bl stories. non-bl ones just have a way to stick in my memory. and to make things even easier to my lists, i just put only ones that i liked out of that particular genre.
and while i say that i started reading yuri, they're really only oneshots, more on just testing the waters, so to speak. though i'm not as averse on hardcore gl, i'm simply not interested (unless it has a really nice plot).
My brother used to force me to read yuri and vice versa, I’d force him to read yaoi. He hates yaoi but he does read them from time to time which is amusing and likewise with yuri on my side. Im not going to lie, I’ve had my doubts on you being a fudanshi as well at first but I gradually trusted you the more we had our short n random convos everywhere lol. It’s weird but I dont have a favourite yaoi manga at all. I have favourite mangas for other genres and ofc I enjoy reading yaoi mangas but I guess there hasn’t been one that just struck me to the core ya know.
haha, understandable. as you've said, it's sometimes dubious when some people claim they're a fudan. it's like finding out that your favorite mangaka claimed to be a male, but turned out to be a female... ( ̄∇ ̄")
i have three definite favorite bl, and they're all yaoi (rather than shounen ai). it's not that they have the best stories, but the angst of the characters throughout the story just gets to me (i'm a slave for all that pain).
→Itou-san (KURAKA Sui)
→Sono Kuchibiru ni Yoru no Tsuyu
→To Take An Enemy's Heart
also, Warehouse and My Starry Sky/ Cosmic Boy are quickly becoming my new faves too. The classic "Where did everything go wrong?" cliche is just too good for me.
though i do have a special spot for Kimi Note, since it was my very first bl manga. speaking of, what was the first bl that you've read?
on another note, my favorite manga of all time just has to be One Piece, no matter how mainstream it is. it's just too epic!! (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
i also have other faves, which i put in the very first list i made (since it's the easiest to make). so what's your favorite of all time, if i might ask?
Funny thing is that I first found yaoi videos (from hentai sites as shameful as it is) and it was probably Enzai lol. Then I saw Finder and thought that I might be interested in the manga as well. Got hooked as soon as I read that camera roll insertion scene lmao. I’ve read shoujo mangas way before yaoi though. I fucking love One Piece! My only regret is watching the anime first instead of the manga so now I don’t have the will power to read it. I’m not actually sure on what I love the very most because there’s loads. The only manga that I have reread more than 3 times was Chouka Kou but it’s on a hiatus T.T. I also made a fav list too! But i havent been consistent with it bc I’m a lazy mofo :’). What’s your ultimate fav btw?
loool, i assume that was the start of your 'insertion' list? (≧∀≦)
actually, i also watched the anime first. i watched it after my dad introduced me to it (along with Naruto). i think i only started reading the manga around Dressrosa arc after i stopped watching the anime so that i can binge-watch it later. after i read the manga from Dressrosa up to the Whole Cake Island arc, i then binge-watched the anime episodes up to the latest.
thankfully i had the patience to catch up. oh, have i mentioned that i also binge-watched 700+ episodes of Detective Conan (in less than a week too)? ε=(ノ≧∇≦)ノ
oh yeah, Chouka Kou is stellar! still waiting for the updates as it ended in such cliff-hanger. i really love stories like this, hence why i also love Dong Yi, a korean drama. i rewatched that long af series a few times every summer. ヾ(☆▽☆)
from what i could remember, the non-bl manga/webtoons that i've reread are
→The World God only Knows
→Sket Dance
→Yamada-kun To 7-nin No Majo
→The Gamer
→Tower of God
→Tomodachi Game
→Real Account (I and II)
→Gantz
which i'll mention are also one of my many faves.
i usually have a pattern of my most recent faves: the mc being badass, genius, or simply OP. i can't stand it when my favorite characters lose... ever. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
as i mentioned, One Piece is my all-time favorite. though Tomodachi Game, Fukushuu Kyoushitsu, Sket Dance, and Saiki Kusuo No Sainan are all close seconds. (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
Bro, I kid you not, we have the very similar tastes. And yes I’ve been obsessed with insertions for a few years now lmfao. My dad was also an anime fan (jap side) and he made me watch sailor moon at the age of 3. Coincidentally, I stopped watching the anime at Dressrosa as well! I was planning to wait for more updates but I ended up not doing so bc I got annoyed with the anime voices- yes its a dumb reason. Funny thing is that my memory is so bad that even if I spoiled myself, I’d forget it lmao. I also love Detective Conan! Such a classic. I truly love Historical mangas and I got really hooked with Azumi as well. Plus I watch a hell lot of korean dramas because I seriously like wasting my time at home. Ichi litter no namida was so tragic ugh (jap drama). Btw let’s continue in the priv mail bc it’s getting reaaaally long lol. Unless you want to find out the maximum amount of messages that allowed here.
rosnie and merrily deserve the world. im so glad rosnie stayed pure and kind unlike her parents. ╥﹏╥
