guwon is for sure not a human and i’m so excited to see how this will turn out!
some things that caught my attention:
1) obviously he’s someone who took advantage of the chaos and apocalypse (as shown in the prologue) and that makes me think that he’s somehow connected to the underworld (judging from how he emerged from the ground, already wearing his jewelry and stuff)
2) maybe i’m overthinking it but i do find it suspicious how guwon asked mc “how does it feel to survive and turn up IN THE OTHER SIDE OF HELL” or something along the lines. that also kinda points to him having connections to the underworld
3) once again, maybe i’m overthinking it but the title points to the greek mythology (the myth of sisyphus) and through that lens i was also thinking about the symbolism of guwon living at the top of the town? like that kinda reminds of me of olympus mountain and greek gods living there. i’m not sure whether the titular “sisyphus” refers to ml or mc but considering how sisyphus cheated death and how weird mc is and how a lot of things point to him being a mugshot i lowkey think it refers to him.
4) also i don’t think ive seen anyone mention it but mc paid attention to how sharp guwon’s hearing it sooo i think that it just shows that guwon is not a human.
5) the whole scene of guwon giving beer to mc and not wanting to drink is also weird but hear me out, his explanation of why he does not drink is lowkey hmm weird?? like at first he says that he doesn’t like things that make him tipsy and then when mc asks him whether he avoids things that are addictive, him replying that he needs to “keep a clear head at all times” that’s just a bit suspicious imo.
there are other things that could be mentioned but idk im lazy. idk maybe im just overthinking all of this

although the age gap at first was weird to me, i later started appreciating this story. it was so beautiful and filled with so many raw emotions, truly breathtaking. i also enjoyed the way it touched the topics of how nuanced the human psyche is, especially in terms of Jiho and his inner struggles.
honestly, even the adoption part, although a bit wierd, in the context of this story makes sense?
the ml didn’t want to get married and said it multiple times that he won’t get married and gay marriage in korea is not possible so it makes sense that he eventually chose to do something like adopt mc, tough weird to others. their relationship was weird and complex from the very beginning and honestly, in my opinion that’s where the beauty partially comes from - the inability to define them. as long as they’re happy, nothing else matters.

this story was so disgusting. i feel so bad for mc, yes he wasn’t perfect, yes he committed a crime but like can we blame him? the only thing he was “guilty” for is wanting someone to acknowledge him and love him. that story was just so sad. i hated it. i read a lot of fucked up stuff, but honestly? this one is in the top 3.
ngl, i think the best scenario for mc would be to just kill himself. maybe that would somehow wake ml up and make him realize that he’s disgusting and literally ruined the person he “loved”. fuck this shit

honestly i didnt even wish him a scenerio of ml chasing him since it would probably end with then getting together once again and like i said, mc would be better off dead ngl. ml didn’t care about him at all and only ruined his life and his mental health. i think many people who read bls get so focused on dub con or stuff like that and only pay attention to physical abuse, while straight up ignoring psychological abuse. and this manhwa is a perfect example of such abuse. shit is toxic, cannot imagine how someone would enjoy it.
it’s one of my favorites of all time but i wish ive never bothered to read the comments since now im just annoyed. why do people lack the ability to acknowledge the fact that stories can in fact be a bit more nuanced and complex? as in i completely understand the way the mc and ml acted and i don’t blame them for not “avenging” siwon. like bro, i actually think that’s very fuxking realistic. but that’s just me.
