Because havenik, based on what we've seen, def would've been able to smooth talk the nobles into buying which would've left aerin out of the equation too much.

It's either a translation error or they negotiated for the prince to serve her instead since she's the saintess and part of the royal family and the prince is of a lower standing in the empire than his other siblings. At least that would explain why he's now serving her instead.

Tbh I don't think i hate eclis enough for the level of brutality. Like even his choice to bring Yvonne, potential brainwashing aside, seemed kinda immature (like cruel to penny but immature).
Like Eclis is clearly more crazy/immature than he is evil (at least is how I'm reading it) which doesn't absolve him but I wish this level of hate was directed at Derrick and the level of hate she sends to Derrick was to eclis lol
Derricks cruelty doesn't hurt as much as Eclis' , because she cared about him and expected him to be good to hear... Where Derrick is already a bastard and she already expected as much of him yk.... It's not the backstabbing that hurts, it's knowing the person who did it
