I think the reason why only his strength stat was increasing was because it was bounded, in the first chapter it mentioned how the passive works and that he has to bound one attribute before using it, and I think that meant it's the attribute that will be permanently affected by the passive.
I get where you're coming from tho. It would be kinda fun to see him do necromancy, but he would not be able to maximize his [Brave heart of a mage], because his summons might be the one to take down the foe instead of him being able to attack it with a physical move.
