I can't say that he brought that to himself. I have the feeling that whatever Eren saw in those 4 years gap made him realize of his own options or lack of them.
He himself said, that he couldn't change anything, so regardless of being him the author of this global genocide, things were already in the process of happening. Before the got the Attack titan power, others were being massacred already by the marleyans or any other group. it was just a matter of time.

The moment Ymir got trapped after her death, and her descendants passed over Frith's ideals, everyone was doomed. At least that's how I see it.

He could have killed only the bad people if he really wanted to but he chose not to. Whether he had many options its still one of the worst options and he has to face the consequences in some way.

He's also being hypocritical knowing what trauma he went through as a kid and putting even worse trauma on more kids that are completely innocent.

And revenge doesn't matter here, its a full on genocide which is just a massacre whether the people are innocent or not. I don't understand how people are defending eren like wtf did yall not see those two kids get squashed by the titans even tho they were in an even worse situation than eren was as a kid? Like um srry but thats brutal and disheartening to see.

Ofc it could be the pass predecessors feelings taking a mind of their own and forcing eren to eradicate humanity. Especially since they hated everyone for their betrayals and want them to suffer as well, at least that's the best outcome in this situation. I hope that's what's happening and its not actually erens will but his predecessors ideals and hatred affecting him.

I don't understand how half the people in this comment section do not understand Eren's character or what Isayama is trying to do with him.

Eren is NOT doing this out of revenge. He had let go of his hatred with Reiner. In fact this is an ironic character development. He goes from a brat wanting to kill titans out of hatred and vengeance and is the hero, to a man doing what he's doing to ensure his friends' survival and is now the villain. Eren literally says that Marleyans were just like his own ppl. He breaks down crying in front of a child. Yea idk how more obvious it can get that he's not doing this because he WANTS to.

You guys are aware that Eren is just doing exactly what Reiner and the warriors are doing right? Trying to kill everyone in order to protect their own people (will not really in the warriors case, they were moreso doing it for validation and to go back home). I don't see anyone raging over the fact that babies and innocents were slaughtered and eaten alive during the wall breaches, but now that it's just made more obvious because the target is a larger group of people its just NOW wrong? The irony.

Eren did not have another option. He literally saw the future. He gave the scouts many chances, and he tried over and over to cheat fate. He asked the scouts if they had another solution, one better than "lol let's talk it out even though the entire world literally declared war against us and sent over kids to kill like half of our population for no reason". Eren waited until the very last moment to attack- which is why he isn't shocked or angry at Willy's declaration of war. Just sad, and disappointed, because that was the moment Eren gave up on humanity, gave up on trying to cheat fate.

You guys are aware that without Eren all eldians would die right? Because Zeke's plan would go through and the world would've annihilated Paradis. "Kill only the bad people", the whole point of SnK is that there is no bad or good people so that doesn't make much sense. And how is he supposed to do that? tell the colossal titans to skip around or smth? Also he is trying to entirely erase the cycle of hatred. Which means that as long as there are people who hate Eldians, the cycle will continue and Paradis's demise is inevitable. So it's all or nothing. So please tell me another solution that would peacefully ensure Paradis's survival.

Note: I am NOT agreeing with Eren's plan, but rather understanding why he was forced to do it. By villainizing Eren, and saying the he's a jerk just because, you are missing the entire point of SnK and its philosophical undertones. Everyone in the aot world is morally gray, Eren is no exception.

Well..were still not sure because maybe the fl and ml have a character development in the future..? Well i kinda agree with you that the ml looks like he's just gonna rape her but we all know that he love her like the way he treated her even tho she was a lowborn and if it is gonna be rape then he should have rape her at that time were he finished treating her wound so basically he's not forcing her and so it's obvious that he love her (in my opinion)

Give em a few chapters, I promise you they're gonna be fucking without any actual conversation. Other than that I'm just uninterested in the ML personality, really dull and generic so far. The FL seems like a pushover too. Read what you want though!

Its only up to chapter 4 when I read it and it was already prominent in the MLs head that he wanted to fuck her so idk...they also had no real conversation but he wants her/loves her? Other than that both the ML and FL just have generic personalities nothing unique yknow. Who knows maybe character development in the future, but im not into stories that have the main characters fuck then fall in love. Just not my tea lol. All in all, he's really horny and the FL is a pushover which I hate, I just don't like smut so thats why I stopped. But ty for youre insight! ♡

Damn you jumping conclusions the manhwa's you've read must be bad. Anyways i saw a spoiler that he love her. The title is literally "sultan's love" and were only at chap 3 damn give it time. And the fl basically live her life hiding from the previous sultan. She prolly think, "i was sold here, why not do whatever they want me to do"
