Do people in the novel, specifically Choi Han, find out that Cale is actually Korean and not from that world?
And does Cale’s personality ever change. Does he soften up a bit?
Yeah, Choi Han knows that Cale from Korea starts from Chapter 400+, and after that Alberu also finds out about it in Chapter 500 + ...ლ(´ڡ`ლ)
Of course his personality get more soften up as time goes by.. but yeaahh ╮(￣▽￣)╭ that tsundere side of his always make him think he was a bad guy lol, even though he had save many people...

I think he softens up a bit because of the kids. When Raon tried to overuse his power in AHEM *spoiler* the castle, Cale raised his voice on Raon! I think he was scared that Raon would overdo it and get hurt... It was super cute!
My opinion is that cale has never been 'hard'. It's just that he's fooling himself to believe that he is, but in actuality he adopts these bunch of children and a bunch of friends, who all love and respect him, and tries to prevent the end of this world.
*Slight spoiler*
The only reason he is a bit standoffish is because of what happened to him in Korea. And honestly, when they reveal what happened, and how choi Han at least finds out, that entire story line is so well done.

Well em, shocked, happy, sad? Liker he was happy he werent the only one grom Earth, sad because Cale didnt tell him and shocked because he didnt think Cale was from another world? I dont rlly remember that so much

So there's an entire arc where Cale gets to go back to Korea for some time. And some (you can guess who) characters also get to go with him. They get to see what life was like, Cale gets to meet some of his old teammates. There's some time travelish elements so I won't spoil any more, but honestly this was my favourite bit. I like how Cale makes peace with that world. He's a bit OP, so seeing character moments like that are really nice.

I'm an idiot, but can someone please explain the symbolism of the finger. Is it because she got pregnant she had to cut off her finger as she was no longer valuable or something?

It's explained on the last page, it's like a "pinky swear", they'd cut off their pinky finger and give it to the man they truly love as a sign of love. Sort of how you'd keep a lock of hair or an accessory or something to remember your lover/family by.

So they had a wager that who won that game of go would get something from the other. I think he won and they slept together. She said that she wanted another game and I feel she wanted him to come back and take her away. But he could not and she had become pregnant.
This caused her to fall from her rank of a high ranking courtesan and the only way she could be of value was to serve men at night.
So I think she cut her and the tip of her child's pinkie and sent it to him as a curse- "you broke a promise."

I don't think she cut the child's pinkie... that just seemed like an inherited trait. For eg. I have a crooked big toe that only some members of my mom's family have.

When monocle dude(I don't remember his name) opens the pouch there is the pinkie and a smaller bit. But he didn't know what the smaller bit was, wondering if it was dirt)
When he saw the pinkie he understood that the talks of the courtesan being redeemed were stopped because she became pregnant with his child. She sent her pinkie to curse him for ruining her life. (Should I explain how he ruined her life and why she went crazy?)
When he goes tothe brothel, he learns she is dead.
That's when he sees maomao and probably thought of how she resembled the courtesan, but probably denied the possibility.
Note that she and the courtesan were the only ones whose faces are not shown as blank or as chess pieces. Even his uncle whom he looks up to, has a rook piece as his face.
Then he sees maomao with his uncle and sees that the tip of her pinkie is crooked and that's when he remembers that little bit in the pouch and realises that it was the tip of his child's pinkie. He realises that maomao is his daughter.
There's also that nightmare maomao had. The one where a crazy looking woman brought down a knife at her(maomao) hand. Probably the memory of her mother cutting her pinkie.
You should also consider the possibility that maomao's mother resented her.

Yeah these are pretty good too! It's just that they are usually OP MC's who work 'solo'. Sometime I crave some family or friendship relationships with the MC but not romance focused. Indeed! I also craved novels which are family based relationships that's why I was immediately into TCF. But TCF is I think the best for me in that area.
This was such a great read. For some reason it personally touched me. The art is amazing, the characters adorable and the story so touching, even with a 600 year old vampire lol. This seems to be the artists only work from what I know. And it's been 2 years since they made this. So I really hope that they know they created a really wonderful story.
