When webtoon (the site) came about, it was booming.
Soon the market got oversaturated since there were too many offers and even webtoon can't pay off their creators since the ad revenue and paid customers cannot support the hosting of more and more creators.
The more popular creators get the brunt of this since they basically shoulder the more newer and/or less popular creators as the site takes their revenue to host these new and/ or less popular creators.
Creators can go migrate to other sites (lezh*n, t@pas, etc...)but the cycle will continue there too.
Hosting needs servers. Servers are expensive. I cry when I see the prices of server tech on Linus Tech Tips.
The artists and creators better set up tip jars (Patreon, ko-fi, etc..) just to be safe...
