Well, It's not really about whether or not it's the countryside. Now I don't wanna assume your race, but most of Asia is like this, the ones who are apart of the lgbtia+ usually just lay low and not talk about it in public. People can get publicly harrased in their own wedding by complete strangers, being called slurs, insults, etc. Not too different from the usual but just a teency tad bit worse because a lot of citizens agree with it. The worst thing is some don't even think about the things they do because for them, it wasn't that big of a deal.
