Sorry I haven’t read the novel either (my friend told me these spoilers) so im not sure how he found out that the child isnt his but the reason they thought navier was infertile in the first place is bc when sovieshu and navier were younger they both ate a drug-laced cookie together. The drug is used for miscarriage and one of the side effects of the drug is infertility, sovieshu didnt know the cookie was drugged while they ate it but he did find out later and he didnt tell anyone. Until trashta came there, sovieshu also didnt know if one of them OR both were infertile but after he found out trashta is pregnant, he just assumed that navier was the only infertile one.

First the prince treats his own fiancé like shit when the engagement is forced by their parents and not the villainess , then they continue treating her horribly and even cheat with the “heroine“ while still being engaged, the heroine also goes and gets together an engagement man but the villainess is the bad one for not tolerating all that disrespect and not tolerating being treated like she’s not worth anything? She doesn’t know how to express love she was the first human ever. everyone gave love to her and fought over her. They never asked if she loved them etc. so it’s not common sense to her. She was a beggar whom everyone ignored and disliked. She was married to a drunkard who didn’t love her. She was forced to be the queen, and all the women tried to make her marry their sons for power. She was never truly loved nor did anyone express those emotions to her. So she herself doesn’t understand, so in a way that’s probably why that thing she calls “god” said she might never understand/know I guess.
