I bet her father went rampage and destroyed the imperial family and that coward emperor. Seems like he act that way to make sure she wont be the target, even that emperor threaten him using his daughter. Bet that sword was for her safety but she misinterpret it.. Hmm, mostly they show the first timeline in sidestory.
he went crazy and killed the emperor since his daughter is the only reason why he is still living.. his daughter is his purpose of living and her dying probably affected him mentally
