Maybe she wouldn't have been so evil if someone was there to guide her
I agree that the Queen fell down on the job (like, REALLY), but remember that the Prince Consort was actually Pryde's primary caregiver...and even he only saw her a couple times a week because of work. (And the Queen is much more busy, and her work involves more travel.) Her father was literally the only one who cared for Pryde or showed her affection after Tiara was born. Everyone else was afraid of or mistrustful towards her.
Like, I know that the Queen didn't want to hire a nanny for Pryde after her own bad experiences with one, but if you don't want to hire anyone, what about her uncle!? He's married and he has kids. Send her to play over there every now and then. Socialize her with other kids from a young age, get her some friends, DON'T RAISE A TYRANT. (I realize her uncle is also extremely busy, since his work load's about the same as the Queen's, but his wife isn't.)
Seriously, so many problems could have been solved if Pryde had just one person that was on her side. It might have kept game-Pryde from collapsing like a house of cards when her father died. (Also I think it would have been interesting to meet the uncle's family, since they only get mentioned in the abstract twice in the novel. They even live on the same property, you'd think we'd at least hear how many kids he has!)
What are you talking about her sister was always with her mom even though her mother was always busy because of work do you understand the problem there that I’m busy I couldn’t always go see her but her younger sister could always be with her mother and be raised by her even though she was always busy how also there’s the fact that the mother clearly didn’t properly inspect people around her even though she could know minimal things about her because she’s always at work like seriously like you said the uncle and everything like that how was she not properly monitor because even though the father could barely ever be there as well he is he at least should’ve monitored everything to at least the regard to understand that she’s safe and mentally OK and if she knew that would’ve been started teaching proper discipline would’ve helped discipline doesn’t always mean harshness I can actually mean love and care even though she didn’t have a nanny she still had a maids all around her having a caretaker which all of them have even though she doesn’t have a nanny is normal as she did have I don’t know what the name is for them the adequate teacher those types of people should’ve given her love and understanding of people around her I would if the fact is the both children could’ve been with their parents but one of them ended up fine and then the other didn’t even though they similarly didn’t get the love from their parents as they should’ve but the problem is the sister dead so that’s why I negate everything
The difference between Pryde and Tiara is twofold: First, (original)Pryde is able to remember her mother's sudden change in behavior after the Queen's vision. The Queen was literally there every day, praising and showering Pryde with love, then she had that vision and just nope'd out of Pryde's life with no explanation. And second, Gilbert's been actively leading a smear campaign on Pryde almost since she could walk. She wasn't an angel by any means, but she was a hurt girl lashing out and he used rumors to turn her into a monster so she'd have no allies. She gave up even trying to be loved because everyone already hated her, so she kept lashing out in a vicious cycle.
Then take Tiara. Who, while only seeing the Queen once a week (same as Pryde and her father, they live separately plus they're trying to hide the sickly Tiara from kidnappers/assassins, visiting every day would be dumb), Tiara was never abandoned by her, received constant love and validation from both her mother and her servants, and literally everyone she met. Including Gilbert, who is very fond of Tiara because her personality is like his first love's.
I agree that it would be a much different story if the Queen didn't abandon Pryde, but she's also not the only one at fault here. Gilbert is set up as a very effective early antagonist...which comes back to bite him HARD in the game, if not in the novel itself. (Even the Prince Consort shares some of the blame for noticing that Gilbert was baiting Pryde to hurt her reputation and doing nothing to stop it.)
And yes, the Queen travels. Especially in the first half of the series. Messengers rarely make it past bandits, so if the Queen wants to KEEP all of those shiny alliances (and she does), she has to visit the other kingdoms in person. It is literally the Queen's job. And only one of those kingdoms can be reached in one day with their current technology. So she tends to be gone very often.
I know what you mean and I do try very hard to every story that I read your parents kind of had like a problem and the family kind of did something to their children in someway I try to understand their point of you but in this one I cant you keep saying that but which chapter is it that the queen lets the MC visit her every once a week she clearly said I have a visitor her or seen her for such a long time I’m not exactly certain either because I would have to go back but I know that she has not seen her very long time it’s also known that the girl the sister is usually with her a lot more often and even if so she is a mother she should’ve stayed it doesn’t matter what other people say even as a queen that’s a really good strategy to take in the first place keep your enemies closer get it so would make no sense also smearing her reputation her father should’ve cut that by now and mostly the mother if she saw all parts of her future she also should’ve thought the parts from Gilberts of the set up she should’ve thought that at some point or at least some part of it and had an inkling and just looked it up she said she kept trying so hard but she clearly didn’t because there’s so much she could’ve done in a lot of stuff she could’ve uncovered even if she had just had a glimpse of everything and she just didn’t know it was not just a mothers fault butI see her is a very vital piece I’m sorry if there’s the mess I’m very dyslexic of doing this like three or four in the morning and I’m too tired to come through this but I need to respond but yes I do understand it wasn’t only the mothers fault but I believe she could’ve done more including the father amount like throwing anybody else out the window when it comes to responsibility I’m just saying that she was a vital piece to why she didn’t get the needed help she needed to if anything her attitude look more like shit ODD than anything else A behavioral issue cost Usually but depression and mental disorders that are very much behavioral usual because of abandonment and other clear reasons to why
I said that the Queen visits TIARA around once a week, similar to how the Prince Consort visits Pryde around once a week (except that Dad also visits Tiara). Other than that, the Queen only sees Pryde when she has Official Business, which means not very often at this age (yearly? every other year?). The Queen was primary (everyday) caregiver until Pryde was one year old, so after that I think she would be the same when Tiara was born, but after Tiara was old enough the Queen went back to work.
I'm not saying that I think the Queen was a good mother--she wasn't. According to the novel, her childhood was arguably colder than Pryde's -- she received no affection from anyone until she met her husband. So she had no idea what she was doing, but at least until her vision about Pryde she was willing to TRY. And the Queen is absolutely the one who created the biggest wound on Pryde's heart.
Oh I probably didn’t read that enough times
But I did get that You were not trying to confirm that she is a good mother or anything like that but I see it as I try to understand the reasons behind the actions and process of how they could’ve ended up there even if faint Of a possibility like rational things but hers makes It very inadequate that’s all that I was getting across because I just can’t I can’t with her
Like I can give rationality and understanding of what the person has gone through and the surrounding of why they might’ve made those decisions we usually when they’re the parents or guardians of the MC’s what some of them can make a little fun but some sons and sometimes the authors contradict themselves of the way that they made them which usually tells me that they made them Developed The characters poorly
Because usually his parents and mostly as a mother your first instinct if you could view into the future how your child was doing he would try to make them have as much success as they could and when I think success I mean as much happiness as They could give them within the responsibilities they’ll they’ll have to hold I mostly because it is dangerous to change things mostly when you can see a possibility into the future and she’s saying is it is a construct a possibility the closest that could happen you can always change those possibilities so with all her language of every single other queen that and probably even her mother that has taught her she has no knowledge of how to deal with it that makes me a little bit pissed
But now I’m not exactly trying to contradict you I’m just kind of mad and I probably didn’t explain myself properly I tried as much as I could to put a lot of thought and looked over my wording as much as I could and I am also be my fault that I didn’t read everything properly But I also think because you failed with her first child she try to do the best with her second one so that also pisses me off is I am an elders child and it always makes me feel like the way the throwaway children of like all the mistakes Parents do
