Sanapa is acting exactly the same way as Misumi before he met Kitahara.
We still don't know what happened between the of them and I'm sure there is a reason behind his way of acting!!

Misumi did say that he absolutely hated fighting and cared about what other people thought. Then we only got flashbacks of him being beaten badly and unconscious in the floor. If the situation traumatized Misumi as the person who was engaging in the fight (likely unwillingly) then there’s a big chance that Sanapa was and still is also traumatized by the incident.
If anything, he’s probably fighting to try to ease the anxiety and PTSD that came with being helpless after receiving a beating like that. Plus, he might have gotten involved purely for being Misumi’s friend. It’s natural to feel betrayal and frustration seeing someone who you view as the source of your trauma being happy like it never happened. ╥﹏╥
