Hi! Correct me if I'm wrong, Jean and Conny turned into titans was due to them being Eldians. Eldians are affected/changed into titans by inhaling smoke, particularly due to the spinal fluid. Turning Eldians into titans was first seen when Zeke Yeager, the Beast titan, turned Ragako Village (Connie's village) into titans by dispersing smoke from his spinal fluid.
