I still think he's better than those other assholes. I think the author is maybe trying to show him start to descent into madness and obsession, but it seems kinda outta left field and super rushed in my opinion. Also, it's weird he immediately thought Je-Oh was sleeping with that other guy. And it's weird Je-Oh lied to him about the other guy being able to help both of them.

Just because he is stressed doesn't mean he can act like that. Like there's no way he is gonna tall to his gf like that and no one is calling him out??
sometimes as humans you can say things out of anger and stress which is what happened. that can literally happen to anyone because sometimes you can’t control it. it’s easier said than done. im not saying what he did was right but what matters now is how he’s going to handle the situation afterwards.
and no one (the band members) is calling him out probably because they have a bigger problem to worry about aka the performance and their guitarist’s tragic situation
