he used her ,she thought he was nice ,they played happy family for a while then the same day after their date she happened to stop by damian's office ,see the documents he kept about her ,realized everything was a lie .Confronted him about he ,he said it was true but he loved her, she asked gilles to help her fake her death which they did and Damian came back home to find her "dead".He kept of saying she wasn't dead and looked everywhere for her and he finally found her after regretting it all.

After several ups and down together, Chloe finally decided to love Damien truly, which is also Damien's goal from the beginning of accepting the proposal of Chloe because even since he found her, he already fell inlove with her. However, his methods of getting the affection of Chloe are not right which he made some lies and manipulation. Chloe found out it and felt betrayed. She also found out that she was pregnant with this child, but had a miscarriage due to acquiring some illness. After getting healed, she decided to divorce Damien as she seems to think the marriage is useless anymore because Damien just want to have a one child which has not been fulfilled and for all the deception he did to her. He didn't agree to it so that's how Chloe planned her fake death so she can finally leave Damien. But he is not convinced with everythinh and started to dig more info about the incident and started to take her back no matter what is the cost.
