Well chanwoo is just greedy as fuck tbh - he doesn’t wanna let go of MD but also don’t wanna play along with him. He feels ashamed and awkward on the one hand but on the right on the other hand. He got himself straight to the position where he is now without any help.
He could have just told MD good bye or the other guy but he didn’t. Also MD let him chose what to do. Chanwoo just plays along so no point in feeling sorry for him in this situation now. He still can leave or use the save word or whatever but he wouldn’t because he is greedy and can’t decide what he want.

Why do so many hate the sis for what she has done. She helped her brother her whole life and seeing how miserable he was and how much he hated himself so she tried her best to change this and give him a better future.
