as i've gotten older, i find high school settings in media increasingly uncomfortable, even though i enjoyed them when i was younger. now, i tend to skip over the more explicit content quickly. i prefer high school settings that are more aligned with shounen/shoujo (ai) genres. university settings are somewhat easier to tolerate, as i mentally age ......

I like the aspect of not being able to control the situation while being in control behind the scenes at the same time and this is only achieved by roleplay in real life imo. Therefore another escape route is reading comics about it because you are in control when you are reading it. Thats a personal experience of mine tho.
