its not racist to acknowledge the deep anti-chinese sentiment many koreans have. they are extremely nationalist and even dismiss chinese culture as being an appropriation of korean culture. as we can see with what happened to this manhwa many still have this supremacist attitude, like how dare a story take place in china and not korea?
idk personally i think it would be weird if his face was suddenly changed at the end, like we spend all this time associating his current appearane with the character and getting attached, and at the end its just someone else? similar issue happened w beauty and the beast, where a lot of people felt disappointed and a little estranged from the beast at the end bc he just looked like someone we had no attachment to!
