essentially from what i understood: jun and yeonwoo both look into the black mirror together, causing their reflection, and therefore their malice, to become one entity. so they need to be together in order for their 'taker' powers to be complete and at full strength.
(i was originally guessing that maybe jun was the reflection of yeonwoo that came out of the mirror, which could explain why they are described as being 'one' and feeling whole together. and maybe since the black room is dark that would explain why if jun was the reflection he would have darker hair than yeonwoo lol)
the whole mirror entity is quite puzzling. i understood it as like this demon that exists in mirrors within these 'black rooms' across the world, and it wants people to act on their malice and devour other people. which apparently helps the mirror entity get stronger. but to what end?? why does this demon thing want to get stronger?
this sort of brings me to my next thought: i almost get the impression that jun and yeonwoo are in over their heads and dealing with something they don't truly understand. like when characters in a movie play with a ouija board or perform some ritual they saw online. they are believing whatever the entity tells them and enjoying the benefits of their powers, but they might just be pawns, and eventually be devoured or possessed or something.
the characters...tbh i can't say i liked them LMAO but this is a darker story so that's not really important. jun is like on the fence of being an unreliable narrator, where he would seem genuinely distraught about the deaths, but then other times we see that masochistic side, where besides enjoying pain he's also drawing things out to enjoy the dread and thrill of it. the DESPAIR (sorry). it makes you wonder if he ever truly cares and is concerned for others, or if everything is just part of this game of cat and mouse he's playing with himself and his memories + yeonwoo. the text to that girl was prob his last shred of...compassion?
but yeah this was interesting, rlly cynical story, i don't rlly agree with what its saying about the nature of people though
i like the 3p in this a lot, the charas are great and love size diff hehe!! i wish dave had more one-on-one time with jinwoo but oh well.
the relationship aside, i feel like this one had a lot of potential to be an interesting zombie apocalypse story, but in the end the writing was kinda...sloppy? it felt a bit directionless at times, since there was no greater goal being worked towards besides survival. and if its going to be about survival and human persistence, or sacrificing your morals, then it should rlly highlight that! there was even that whole aspect of jinwoo being immune to zombies (!!), but then that didn't rlly go anywhere besides a convenient way to keep him in the game?
and if this wants to be a more character narrative driven story rather than plot driven, it needed to go deeper into who our 3 mcs are, rather than explaining in the A/N. the charas felt a bit 2 dimensional bc of that. the poor tl also didn't help in a lot of these aspects lol
i rlly felt like this had potential which is why i feel a bit disappointed. but i do like the 3p a lot and the art is tasty

this was very sweet. i would say it's primarily a love story, with the zombie apocalypse setting acting as mostly backdrop and device to progress the relationship rather than being center to a plot. i was kinda hoping for a more plot intrigue story like dead man switch and dreadful night, but i still enjoyed seeing the charas grow to love each other
i'm on a zombie kick so i'm kinda craving the mystery horror plots LOL
im also thinkin that bada may be an NPC, that could explain why he is unable to kill the killer while doha can. NPC may not be able to affect the game the way a PC can
i gotta know what the deal w that villager guy is. doha killed him before he supposedly gained sentience, which makes me think doha is the PC and already knew that guy was bad? but then how could he have acted like an NPC for like 20 turns before that... god i have no idea!!
