Not defending him but he’s spineless but def not an asshole

Um.... He didn't want anyone to know about their relationship cuz he's ashamed. Made his bf apologize to someone for something he never did and didn't even ask the whole situation before doing so. And they just started their relationship.

Just because we have his brother as the devil incarnate himself as a comparison does not make Junghwi any less of an asshole.

Idk if it’s him being ashamed or he’s just not out yet and coming terms with his homosexuality. Bc he’s not ashamed of parading their friendship so I think don’t think that’s the issue. You’re right about him making his bf apologized for something, he’s a coward and he should’ve stood up to what is right, but I don’t think that makes him an asshole either, that just makes him a doormat and he didn’t want to start a conflict within the group.

Junghwi is a sweet guy, He’s just very people pleaser. He bought the main character gifts, the hand lotion twice, he tries to take care of the main character when he has time like picking up when he’s drunk or just bringing to him into the group since we saw the main character is very antisocial. Not pushing for anything sexual when they first hung out alone, even though it was obvious, he probably wanted to do something, and not been getting mad when the main character was acting weird for the first hang out, saying that he thought about someone else when he was acting intimate with him.

I’m not talking about the current Male lead or even comparing them I’m just slowly talking about jungwhi and how he’s not an asshole even without the comparison of ML

If he's not out yet or still confused of his homosexuality, then maybe he shouldn't be in a relationship.

If he apologized for something he didn't do for the sake of avoiding conflict, THAT'S a doormat. But he made another person apologize for something he didn't do, forcing him to just suck it and bow down. What's worse is he's not a stranger, he's the MC's friend (much more boyfriend). That makes him an asshole in my opinion.

He bought gifts for the mc because he wants to get on with him, it's not entirely innocent gifts. And not pushing anything sexual to him on their first few days as a couple is literally the barest of the minimum any decent human being should have. It's not special.

I'm not comparing Junghwi to the ml. I'm just saying that Junghwi only seems sweet because we're reading an extremely toxic manhwa and we unconsciously compare them without meaning to. Outside of this story, he's just an indecisive asshole who couldn't make up his mind before being in a relationship with someone else.

With the asshole thing, I still disagree but ig that is just the different in our perspective. That older man yelling at MC seems to be a big mouth, he probably didn’t want MC to get into much trouble and also avoid conflict. It sucks that he didn’t talk to MC about it but yes he a pussy. And honestly, I feel like he would’ve done that with anyone, even if it was his brother that was next to him or a family member that was getting confronted. Not everyone is buying their crush gifts, it’s not the bare minimum imo, he was also attentive and knew MC hand get dry easily. Yes he was pursuing MC, so there is an underlying intention but that doesn’t make it malicious. He just like him. I do agree the sexual thing was bare minimum but still u didn’t combat my argument about him being patient w MC, even tho MC was obviously being spacey and thinking about someone else. And the other times he take care of MC or his little brother. He is a nice dude.

First of all, I never wanted him to be anything, much less perfect. I stated my opinion and left it at that. You're the one who reasoned out so I replied with a light hearted intention of bantering with other commenters. I don't know why you have to point this out. I see why now. Because you relate to him.

Well then, I for one do not mean to offend anyone, LGBTQ+ or otherwise. I called him an asshole specifically because of what he made the mc do (bowing down to apologize for something he didn't do) and only elaborated after you mentioned a few other plot points in this story. Nothing more.

Again, calling him an asshole is my opinion (as I mentioned in my other replies), you are welcome to disagree.

His other actions of pursuing the mc may or may not be interpreted in another manner. I repeat, you are welcome to disagree. And yes, the mc was being spacious and Junghwi was patient (because consent should be obvious).

I am not biased in anyone on this manhwa. I called the ml a bunch of unsavory words, including but not limited to: rapist, jerk, crazy asshole (yep), devil, demon, m*therfucking sh*t. I just happen to mention Junghwi in this particular comment because the ml being the rapist jerk that he is, is no longer a novel thing.

My opinion about Junghwi was first an extra character, to a good senior, then changed to asshole. Might change it again after a couple of chapters because (surprise!) opinions can change.
