damn right. Look at popular stories it's full of sex and the ones that actually explore themes other than that are less rated. I don't read much "yaoi" now but I rmbr stories barely started but comments would be full topics about sex, who's this sex position who's that...
Even in shounen Ai section they say "turn into yaoi" and refer characters "seme/uke." I've seen mfs complain about shounen Ai because it doesn't have sex since they've read everything in yaoi, ridiculous. Uploaders do encourage that too and the commentary under some scenes and memes at the end are annoying.

i completely get what you mean but at the same time idk why people act like people just cant like sex? I mean personally i need plot if there's going to be sex because i want to get attached to the characters. However I don't get why it's an issue if someone just wants to read sex too? I also don't get how reading bl or gl is fetishizing if someone who's straight reads it? After all no one considers it fetishizing if it's the exact same story with a girl and boy?

Heres my take on this (correct me if im wrong)
I cant speak for all but here are my observations ( personally prefer story over smut but not opposed to it if done right)

Well first of all people have their own tastes, you cant really judge them for that. Second they are expressing what they want to happen (not really uncommon in fan culture) and or are thirsty as fuck and depending on the genre of the story the more smuttier the more "degenracy/ cultured" individuals it attracts. Fans express their wants to the point of impossing it and usually the more agressive the act are usually done by younger , immature or new/inexperienced fans.Also people are just sensitive if it doesnt fit their ideals. (I view it as long as it doesnt hurt anyone go for it, AND you DO NOT APPLY IT TO REAL LIFE PEOPLE)keep reality and fantasy SEPARATE.

Regarding opinions of gay men : i aint gay or a man so cant speak for this BUT i am assuming you aint either you just "heard"
Peoples perspectives can differ on this matter some may be okay with it some may not [gay men pls verify ahahahaha]

Also Restricting your audience to a specific demographic is marketing suicide and discriminatory in itself. Also isnt yaoi mostly targeted to women anyways(?) (Pls verify). also what does your gender even have to do with your preference in stories anyways? Try applying it the other way around and ask yourself

No one said reading bl is fetishizing why do ppl keep assuming that? If someone's only reason to read "boys love" is for the sex, that's questionable....

I mean everytime I come on this website I see everyone screaming it to be fetishizing if you read only bl or only gl? And that's what I'm saying though. It's actually spelled fujoshi <--- with a J. I think it would be someone (typically a girl, because it translates to "bad girl") who enjoys yaoi or someone who ships boys who perhaps are not gay/into men, or do not like eachother. If you've seen the anime "Kiss Him Not Me" that's a pretty good example. It's not really a bad thing,, I think it gets a bad rep. But, fujoshis are usually the "kyaaa" girls, if that makes sense jhfjshsf lol
