Cesare will kiss Ruby in the garden and they’ll get caught by freya, ellen, and Ivan. Nobody told Iz for a while until the day of the event. Im not sure if freya framed Ruby, but eventually freya told Cesare and told him to go to a specific room or something. Ruby and Cesare were in the room (freya as well but she was hiding) and he asked Ruby to run away with him. however, ruby refused and Cesare went on an outburst. Cesare physically assaulted Ruby and got caught by Iz. This part was actually so sad in the novel because Ruby was really hurt (Cesare smashed a mirror on her face and the shards were stuck on her face if i recall correctly)
