what happens (spoilers):
- it starts off where we left off with sasya going on stage and he sees karel in his uniform. he says he’s come because of the letter. karel asks why sasya took the blame as the spy, and sasya replies that it was because he loves karel. obv this is mirroring what karel said to sasya when karel was being taken away to jail. sasya asks where the bouquet is though, and karel promises to gift many. sasya notes it’ll be like the lavender back at their old home. this time though they’ll take care of the flowers together in their new home
- it’s been 10 days since the two have left france. karel questions what sasya is thinking so hard about. it’s revealed in karel’s inner thoughts that ever since sasya has left the jail he’s been mixing up reality and imagination. you can see this when sasya thinks karel is in his uniform and come to see sasya on stage. karel plans for sasya to get treatment in america but until then the former must keep on eye out on sasya. sasya says his worry is that when they dock in america karel is gonna run off to madame ramboutane or whatever her name was. karel wants to reveal his entire plan but can’t. karel though let’s sasya know the two are divorced. because it was a marriage without emotional attachment, sasya asks karel if he’s the type to throw away his married partner so easily. karel says it’s complicated, and sasya says how karel never said any of this. karel asks sasya if he doesn’t like divorced men cuz karel only has eyes for sasya with sparkly eyes. sasya forgives him, and karel promises it’s never gonna happen again and kisses sasya on the cheek. in karel’s inner thoughts he apologies to sasya for not being able to explain everything. but karel says he will once sasya is healthy, no matter how long this may take because they will together for eternity <3
- they dock and karel is helping sasya get off the boat when he sees a soldier. sasya worries that guy is there to arrest sasya but karel tells him not to worry because sasya isn’t a convict/prisoner. in sasya’s inner thoughts sasya admits he has committed a crime that karel knows more about. sasya tries to bring up the murder but karel says that’s his crime. sasya tries to protest, but karel suggests it’s “their” crime as a compromise. anyway, karel says they’ve already paid off for their crimes. sasya agrees and says he won’t worry bout it/blame himself anymore. they approach the soldier now. sasya says his name and that he’s from france. he also states his real name is alexander (i forgot that’s his real name wtf). i don’t get this sentence but sasya request… an asylum ?! (had to look 망명 up.) the soldier welcomes to the two and says they’ve been expecting them.

He did abandon him at some point thats just a fact
but he didn't. it's later revealed that karel never got a letter that sasya wrote to him while he was at war, and that sasya always intended for them to meet again once karel was back from service. Sasya also said in the letter that he was leaving the house which is why he wasn't there when karel came home on break from duty. karel just thinks sasya abandoned him because the letter was intercepted
karel's going to get the letter in the next few chapters and realize that sasya didn't abandon him, he just was not going to stay put in the house and rot awat while karel was in the service

this just proves sasya’s wishful thinking of karel coming to see sasya on the stage wasn’t just wishful thinking stemming from the fact that he is taking advantage of karel’s love. i can’t believe saysa thought karel got all of his letters and had the audacity to act like sasya has done everything wrong. in reality there were misunderstandings from omissions, which is clearly not sasya’s fault.
this author makes a good job of making readers hate and doubt sasya and his love toward karel. seriously for 60 chapters people were conflicted about whether sasya actually loved karel. at the very least we knew karel did everything for sasya out of love so as to not make him such a big villain. his side of the story was explained throughout this manhwa but sasya? bro got the shorter end of the stick. it’s like we’re karel who doesn’t believe sasya actually loved him and did things out of love

thank you for the extra information! I just read someone's synopsis of the novel and haven't seen the raws; I really hope that the author makes it really clear that there was a misunderstanding that changes everything because I can't take people hating sasya anymore
but also I was pretty understanding of sasya before the letter reveal because mental health is complex and sasya was fading away without a purpose
