How the fuck Stefan acts more like a proper father figure to Dorothy and the two other kiddos as opposed to that fucking sperm donor. Ma man Stefan is at MOST 10 years older than Dorothy but he is acting like a proper dad to her. I love how he is wary of Ethan like any other typical dad would when a suitor approaches his cherished daughter but he relents immediately when she said she likes Ethan. This man respect her wishes and is so much more of a real father to her compared to Karnon. And he is like, big brother age range. How the fuck.
Can Karnon just die already. Mf is ruining everything in worse way possible.
There's something weirdly satisfying and endearing seeing MC and her husband together with those evil villainous expressions. Their relationship is honestly so wholesome once they started to trust each other and I really really love how matures ML is since he isn't overly posessive over her, respect and trust her and dayyyymmnn even protecting her loyal "dog" who he first thought as a threat of her affection. He is so secured with his position as her husband and I love that there's no stupid jealousy plot between him and Sing.
I realllly love the war plot. It's such a fantastic tool to show how much our Zeline has grown compared to her in the prologue. Usually, the war plot I've read are meaningless since they are just superficial tool to show off how cool and badass the ML/MC are. But here, it's really raw. It is used to nurture Zeline's character. Zeline (very) slowly growing out of her cowardice at the sight of war is something really rare to be seen in these kind of manhwa. Usually the MC is already badass and cunning, which ended up making their stories stagnant as there is nothing to root for other than seeing her victorious. Here, I'm rooting for Zeline's growth and her future as Roymund's king. I'm attached and in love with how wise and courageous she tried to be despite her own fears and insecurities. She's not badass nor does she the epitome of your typical girlboss. She's flawed, affected by fears and insecurities but that's what make her character so loveable. She's still weak but she has potentials that I'm estatic to root for. Totally love that she's gathering her vassals whether she wants it or not by simply being herself. Truly a king-in-training. All that I have seen from her character so far are the mark of a good ruler and I hadn't seen that in a female MC for a looooong while. The only other MC I can think of that has this attribute is Florentia Lombardi.
Coming from a country that still has kings and royals, I understand Roymund's people willingness to die for her. A king willing to die for his people is someone I too would be willing to die for.
Too bad Zeline is very fictional
Finally finished all available chapters and I genuinely love how both ML and MC are dramatic and toxic to each other. Living for all the gaslight, secrets and toxic drama between them before they finally made it work. Wasn't expecting that kind of resolution with gow toxic they are to each other. Toxic cancelled toxic and made it neutral I guess.
Dietrich is my favorite boy so far and I love that he has his genuinely wholesome love story that isn't tangled with the main toxic pair. Him and his wife is just teeth-rotting cute
I come here to say that I love the family dynamic of Dietrich, Riendhart and Wilhelm cuz they do be acting like parents to Will and I love how wholesome it looks like.
But the top comments suggest that this wouldn't last huh? I'm still on chapter 10
The ML and FL are flawed and can be dumb at certain parts but they are like that in a way I can believe which is amazing.
Also, love that despite the way it looks like this story is a love story between Rudy and Judy, it's all revolve back to Luca. The ending is so precious because he got his happy end
I think this is the first manhwa I read that the FL is smart, brave and has unique personality. The ML is not the all perfect but emotionally constipated son of a gun. Felix has both his good and bad moments. Plus, he did communicate his feelings as best as he could to his situation. And of course, the FL and ML have what I deem as mature adult reaction towards intimacy. I am sick of grown ass adult characters going all blushy and embarrassed like a fucking teenager when it comes to sex and intimacy. God bless Felix and Rene display a healthy couple intimacy. Love that bits.
Anyhoo, the other prominent female is not a bitch, but instead an absolute inspiration. Hell, there isn't one bitchy-because-of-a-dude moment among the main girls at all. The ladies are gorgeous, have their own stuff they want to do and don't pine for undeserving trash men. The trash men don't have poorly made sob story to justify their assholeness. They are pure assholes on their own. The spotlight parents are abslute gem. This manhwa checks all of my checklist for good read. Definitely recommended!
Please, I am curious about Lily but god damn the feast of mommy and daddy in the background got me soooo distracted. This is the first fake marriage couple I see who actually behaves like loving healthy couple, all the witty banter and roasting each other included. And also not-so-subtlely hinted cordial intimate life.
Alteos leaving Lily is so messed up yet so in character too. MF is a daddy but he's definitely not a papa. His poor nephew having to live with that misanthrope as a father figure good lord
These kids are a bunch of traumatised broken manipulators desperate for love (minus Ray the sunshine) and I do hope this second life will give all of them some form of happiness and redemption. Neither of the kids minus Ray so far seems to be spotless clean in the first life.
Theon toyed with Dora's heart to save his skin which initially boggles my mind on why he can't you just get a job as Ray's aide to stay by his side and have the light power calm his volatile dark power. Like, why go the roundabout way of being a brother-in-law just gor that?? But then I remember that he is the Duke and probably has his own territory to manage and couldn't stay all the time with Ray without valid excuse. Still didn't make sense tho.
Julia also plays a part for not urging Theon to explain the truth to Dora which I think really fuel Dora's decline to tyranny. She might be the least guilty as of the chapters now but I can't say baby girl is really innocent and guiltless.
Dora is so brokenly lonely and desperate for affection that she ended up a tyrant killing millions while Ethan is equally lonely simp desperate for affection that he ended up enabling Dora and partially responsible for those deaths by tyrant Dora.
These kids are broken AF. They all need theraphy and redemption arc in this second life.
The only person I think deserve no mercy, sympathy and redemption is Carnon. MF can drop dead and I will bring a party to defile his grave and celebrate his death.
