I realllly love the war plot. It's such a fantastic tool to show how much our Zeline has grown compared to her in the prologue. Usually, the war plot I've read are meaningless since they are just superficial tool to show off how cool and badass the ML/MC are. But here, it's really raw. It is used to nurture Zeline's character. Zeline (very) slowly growing out of her cowardice at the sight of war is something really rare to be seen in these kind of manhwa. Usually the MC is already badass and cunning, which ended up making their stories stagnant as there is nothing to root for other than seeing her victorious. Here, I'm rooting for Zeline's growth and her future as Roymund's king. I'm attached and in love with how wise and courageous she tried to be despite her own fears and insecurities. She's not badass nor does she the epitome of your typical girlboss. She's flawed, affected by fears and insecurities but that's what make her character so loveable. She's still weak but she has potentials that I'm estatic to root for. Totally love that she's gathering her vassals whether she wants it or not by simply being herself. Truly a king-in-training. All that I have seen from her character so far are the mark of a good ruler and I hadn't seen that in a female MC for a looooong while. The only other MC I can think of that has this attribute is Florentia Lombardi.
Coming from a country that still has kings and royals, I understand Roymund's people willingness to die for her. A king willing to die for his people is someone I too would be willing to die for.
Too bad Zeline is very fictional
Author HAD to introduce the hot abusive dad right at season finale.
